You forgot to list Chihuahuas!

Then we can put them in a tiny suit of armor too! <3

Wow! actually surprised that this thread got a lot of feedback lol

I think that the poodle isn't a bad dog considering that they are always in the top 10 smartest dogs and was bred to hunt

I'd like me some roasted dog, with a big mug of mead and a buxom wench on my lap to go along with it.

I would like a quiet dog that doesn't overheat and pant in my ear every 5 seconds. Poor Dogmeat would have died from heat exhaustion, and I would have gone deaf, if I had Dogmeat follow me around any further. :|

I love dogs, and hope they add them as pets. :)

Husky! although I would like to use my real dog, he's a pug, but people would stare and laugh.

St. Bernard for me - my aunt had one and he was the gentlest, most adorable thing in the world. I'd keep him at home though, along with my cat (should they be in too ). I couldn't take Dogmeat out with me in F:3, as I was too scared he'd get hurt lol. I'm such a softy.

I'd love an Irish Wolfhound. They're huge beasts and they'd be great in combat.

Wow those Leonbergers look pretty awesome, but my vote is still Rottweiler! As for Irish wolfhounds they look a bit scabby and they don't have the right jaw for the bite. and then there is St Bernards I love them but all the ones I've met are scared of everything plus there's the dribble situation... I Suppose they could drown the bandit. Also to the guy that suggested Sabertooths if you mean cats then damn you lol, if the bandit said "here, kill ur master for this meat" they would.

http://listverse.com/2007/11/13/top-10-badass-guard-dogs/ look at the bonus one Wolf cross.

If I could chose any race it would be the Alaskan Malamut, but I think it would be quite hard to make them fit in. They are made very low tempratures, so much in fact that it is almost to warm for them in the norwegian winter(which often includes periodes with 20-25 degress below 0). I know Skyrm will have many cold areas so it's not impossible though.

I don't care.

Skyrim =/= Earth.

This, I would like dogs from Nirn, fantasy breeds. This should be an option in the poll.

Well, I voted for the swiis mountain hound, but I think it would be great to have a Pyrenean Mastiff. Skyrim is a cold and dangerous place, with high mountains and big monsters. I think it would be the wiser choice for the Nords to have this kind of dog around (males can often weight over 220 pounds and be 32 inches tall).

Actually This. Dogs on Tamriel should be more suited to seeing off trolls, they would have to be the large dog breeds or bigger than our largest... DIRE WOLVES ... But this does lead into another topic, when summoning pets in oblivion they lasted like 100 seconds. I think it would be better if they were a passive spell and only go when killed or dismissed, at which point you can re-cast the spell. That was possibly one of the most annoying things in OB. A way they could solve the mortal dogs dying, if they put them in of course, could be when they get low health they run and hide?? I don't know, just a suggestion.

I'd like to see Husky's. I feel they would fit the land of Skyrim best, although having a few different breeds would be interesting.

I wouldnt want a dog following me around, but I would like a happy and fat cat in my house.
As the saying goes: 'A house without a happy and fat cat may well be a wonderful home, but how can it show it is?'

I would like a Wolfhound as long it could be told to stay at home though. When i tried Fable 2, having that dog follow me around everywhere drove me nuts

Be careful, you might get a Khajiit kid as follower; think a combination of the kids in Lamplight cavern and Jar-Jar. :cheat:
You should only recue him but then you came back the quest giver is gone.

i chose the akita because it is the ultimate fighting dog. for those of you that dont know about this dog it is a Japanese bear hunting dog and they are extremely loyal. they have one of the the strongest bites of the k9 family and are bread to kill as well as be a family dog.
