What kind of expansion/DLC?

Post » Fri Jul 16, 2010 7:31 am

Personally I would like to see an expansion to where you can visit another province (Summerset Isles specifically) and a DLC to access more unique sets of armor and weapons.

If this has to happen then I'd love to go to the current black marsh, including what used to be mainland morrowind.

What I would like to see (and it probably STILL comes under High Rock) would be a journey to Orsinium. My guess is that it would have similar geography to Skyrim, but at the same time vastly different. I want to see the unique Orc architecture, their barbaric yet refined culture and some of the mythical and evasive Orcish weapons...

Why would they add Valenwood or Summerset Isle as the location for an expansion? :o
If they are gonna move to another province (unlikely), then I would guess a small part of High Rock or Morrowind, somewhere unexplored by the previous games.

But I'd guess another realm, like Shivering Isles. Or a new location that belongs to or is near the province, like Solstheim.
Or just simply something new in the existing game world, like a giant underground Dwemer stronghold/mine in one of the magnificent mountains.
Like a giant Moria that you can explore, fight new enemies in and build up a base in. (Perhaps with the aid of a company/organisation like in Bloodmoon.) :)

As a PC user, I do not care for DLC material, especially the kind that require money. However, I have no qualms at all about buying a good expansion to a good game.

For the poll, I chose the horse/horse carriage option, and "other". "Other" as in I do not yet know what will be missing in Skyrim that I would care about, perhaps next-gen physics, etc. Also "other" as in a new perhaps a new land mass.

The next expansion has you exploring the cosmos of Nirn in a spaceship.

New sets of armour/weapons/CLOTHES.

And I don't mean chainmail bikinis and maid's uniforms.

i'd actually prefer a couple really good dungeon crawlers like Mehrunes' Razor and maybe some micro-expansions like Fallout 3 to a full-fledged expansion pack, honestly. the idea of DLC involving an expedition into a recently-uncovered Dwemer ruin ala http://www.imperial-library.info/content/oblivion-ruins-kemel-ze, even if it's mostly linear and tightly-scripted, makes me more than a little moist.

I'd definitely like to see a new province. I don't know why, but I've always been curious about Black Marsh.

TBH I understand why lots of gamers would want this being on consoles..

Myself I'd like a proper expansion set in or close to Skyrim itself.. or even in a vastly different realm.
That way it adds lots of content, new stories, more lore on lands of Nirn, and.. how whole bunch of items.
To me item sets would have to have at least 300 totally unique pieces and effects to get me to pay money for them.
Then as I say I'd may feel different if on a console.

I'd like to see summerset isle or a time shift to Atmora, not because it''s my favourite.
More because I think it has some potential.

A whole new province will never happen. That's what future TES games are for :P

I'd like to see the sliver of Morrowind to the east opened up for a number of quests. At the time of Skyrim, it's been invaded and conquered by the Argonians. I think it would make an interesting role-reversal dynamic between them and the Dunmer. Anyone for carpetbagging? :D

I voted on all couse off of them are good options :)

New areas, more weapons and armor, more spells, more gameplay in general? Who would turn down on that? It just better be good, done with effort and not announced the same day they release the game couse it will scream of "cut content"...

Summerset Isle and Black Marsh are practically on the other side of the continent, and they're much too huge and full of potential to be limited to a DLC in my opinion; I'd much rather see them as standalone games in the future. If you must see more of other provinces though, a foray into either mainland Morrowind in the east (I count it seperately from Argonia despite its annexation) or High Rock in the west would be ideal. An interesting setting also would be Orsinium, and perhaps border skirmishes on Hammerfell, although I definetely want Hammerfell to be featured in a game of its own.

I voted other realms, because in other threads I've argued and still do for either Roscrea or Atmora. Other than that, a Viking-style raid into vulnerable High Rock territory would be the most appropriate setting outside of Skyrim proper, in my opinion.

I chose Hammerfell and other.

The "other" would be Akavir, (Basically if Tamriel is Europe, Akavir is Asia), it would play in perfectly with the story of the game as well. (The dragons come from Akavir).

I wouldn't mind some smaller DLC like houses or weapon packs too.

No new provinces. They need those for upcoming games. But a another realm or underground city would be sweet.

More weapons/armor and a big side quest similar to Bloodmoon or Tribunal for Morrowind.

God, I must have mentioned Bloodmoon and Tribunal three times today. :)

I want TESVI to be Summerset Isle since they didn't make it TESV. So definitely not a new province for a DLC. I picked a pocket realm or daedric realm.

I think it's a little to early to vote for a DLC when the game hasn't been released yet...

Ideally no DLC just nice big expansions. Failing that a nice long and intricate quest.
