what kind of games would you suggest

Puzzle Quest 2 is a good suggestion... one of those games that's both sort of mindlessly entertaining and yet sort of svcks in/pulls you along.

If you have a PC, I recommend Syberia 1 and 2; maybe she would like adventure games that don't involve combat.

I wouldn't really recommend Ocarina of Time, both the graphics and the user interface aged rather poorly.

It doesn't look amazing, but for a 13-year-old game I think it's held up rather well. It's also for someone that plays DS most of the time, so the graphics shouldn't be too much of a concern. If he gets the GameCube version, which runs at twice the resolution of the original, then I imagine it'd be fine.

My girlfriend is far from a gamer, but we've had good times on the Wii. I suggest the new donkey Kong country, you can both play together on that one and its relatively easy yet fun, the new super Mario which is also coop and fun/easy, and another game my girlfriend thinks is fun which I actually really like is epic mickey. It's single player, so she can play by herself, and its got some small puzzles and a pretty good story so far. Plus if she's a Disney fan like a lot of girls are shell connect with it.

Hope that helps.

Maybe rpg′s aren′t just what she prefers... I would recommend "limbo" or "braid" for the 360

Thirded for Puzzle Quest, and I'd also recommend Torchlight.

Fallout: New Vegas, convince her to join Legion.

But really, if she's not anti violence them Red Faction Guerilla, [Prototype] or Left 4 Dead might get her into gaming some more.
Lost of girls seem to love Left 4 Dead.
Me and my friends former girlfriend used to play Left 4 Dead on co-op a lot, great fun.

My wife is a casual gamer, but I was able to get her to create a character in "Fallout 3" and "Oblivion". Maybe your wife would find a sandbox RPG interesting?

http://www.fogu.com/hm/animal_parade/ is a nice relaxed game, but more complex than casual games. May be a good stepping stone.

Thanks for all the awesome suggestions. So far I think I might try to find Puzzle Quest, sounds like it would be perfect for her. Also, Ocarina of Time: I have the Master Quest version for gamecube, so thankfully the graphics are a bit better then the N64.

If she likes Strategy, I suggest Age of Empires 2 or Age of Mythology, they are what really got me into gaming.

EDIT* Or the Sims 3, my sister and mother seem to play that alot

If you want to get a handheld Zelda, I'd recommend Spirit Tracks. I'd also recommend Pokemon Black and White.
