What kind of ruins will Skyrim contain?

Post » Mon Aug 31, 2009 7:59 pm

I really hope to see some Dwemer, bethesda did it great in the last game, but they did so little. I am guessing that there will be some mer ruins, since they used to inhabid Skyrim

Falmer ruins make the most sense, with the possibility open to have an Ayleid ruin or two along the southern border and a Dwemer ruin or two along the Morrowind border. I'd love to see that, if only for the tileset variety :)

Mostly old Nord cities in the mountains and in really hidden places tiny traces of Falmer, maybe leading to a quest in which you discover the remaining Falmer.

There should be a lot of nord ruins. The pocket guide said they originally established cities in highly defensible areas, then moved to the greener valleys once they'd established a country. There should be some ghost towns up in the mountains.

This is what I'm hoping to see. Lots of old Nordic forts and fortresses. However, a Dwemer ruin or two would be really neat to see, and not impossible.

Right, Falmer supposedly left no traces, so even if the players does find the first evidence of them, it couldn't really be something that is found all over the province... otherwise someone would have found them before.

It would be awesome if there were references to the war between the nords and the dwemer and chimer.

I would like to see them attempt what they pulled off in Morrowind, having evidence of different eras and changes in culture.

Falmer most likely, but I'd love to see Dwemer ruins! Where were they located.

Probably Dwemer, but just since I've never heard of Falmer ruins. Falmer ruins isn't an impossibility though, so fingers crossed for that.

They totally don't indeed. Which made belonging to one house or another an aesthetical choice as much as anything else.

Its probably going to be both but I am sure the Dwemer are going to make an appearance because on elderscrolls.com, on the big stone wall if you look closely you can see what looks like Anumidum the brass God. It is slightly right of the center of the Stone. Please someone confirm.

Falmer, though I really would like to see Dwemer in the, ahem, acquired Hammerfell and High Rock areas. Just for variety.

I go for the 'mostly falmer, with an Ayleid and Dwemer or two along the border' idea. Mixed in of course with fort ruins, other old human ruins and nordic tombs, plus caves (of course).

I'd like to see a few Dwemer ruins near the border. Other than that I don't particularly care either way.

According to lore, the Falmer left no ruins, but I wouldn't be surprised if we ran into some of those in the game.

There's might also be some ruined Akaviri forts from the last time the Akaviri invaded Skyrim, though I'm not sure if the Akaviri inhabitation lasted long enough for them to build forts.

I'd love to see the falmer boundary ruins mentioned in the PGE, and its possible to see dwemer ruins along the hammerfell border and morrowind border. considering that during the ben'k---(forgot how to spell it) war that skyrim regained territory along hammerfell borders and considering fang lair(a dwemer ruin) was right next to the border I don't think its too hard to imagine dwemer ruins there. I would also love to see both the labyrinthian and the fortress of ice I would love to learn more about shalidor.

Don't really care, as long as they are diverse and interesting, and as long as every building outside of a city isn't a ruin. I found it odd that a nation with a still-functional military had no functional fortresses, and all Imperial fortresses were instead ruins.

Spice 'em up I say. The stock Ayleid ruin and abandoned fort population of Oblivion void of any variation got boring real soon.
