What kind of sound setup do you have?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2009 8:06 am

I saw the question come along with what kind of TV/Monitor do you play on? So i thought what about the sound.
To me sound is very important since I started playing with my headphones I sometimes get a eargasm.
Well the question is pretty simple : What kind of sound setup do you have?

Well I have headphones ( Beats by Dr Dre Studio) connected to my Xbox 360 & PC to play games.
And if i have company or something i connect my Xbox to my 5,1 surround sound system by Bose
How about you guys?

Creative speakers with some good bass, but I use a cheap pair of Sony in-ear headphones most the time. Been thinking of getting some proper headphones, should really invest in some nice ones.

Well, it's not really fair because I have a small recording studio setup that I use to also play the occasional game...so I have about a $3000 audio chain from outboard DA converters, studio monitors, treated room for improved acoustics, etc. So yea, Skyrim should sound pretty killin'!!

Subsonic

Oh, and if you want a great pair of headphones for not too much cash, check out a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50's, they are fantastic for the price!

PC (hardware in sig).
20" monitor (1600x900 resolution)/42" LG TV

Some cheap-ish Altec Lansing speakers/sub-woofer for my PC, and Toshiba (I think) speakers for my TV.

A pair of Behringer http://home.comcast.net/~livilanic/home/equipment/pdf/B2030A.pdf active studio monitors. Running off a http://home.comcast.net/~livilanic/home/equipment/pdf/VSX5600.pdf stereo receiver from an onbaord Realtek ALC892 (need to get a dedicated sound card :/), and two 10" Jensen XS BASS oldschool subs in 1 cuft enclosures. It's BOOMtastic! :P
