This, and I hope they don't bloody pop up on my screen while playing.
I still don't understand why people are annoyed bye the small, one or two second popups... seriously, its not that bad, no need to complain about it
People definitely have different preferences, and rightfully so.
It's just that I think a game should reward you with the gameplay, story and feel, not some pointless and meaningless "rewards" like achievements.
Example: You should not be rewarded with an achievement for reading all books in the game, the reward is the stories and lore those books contain.
It certainly doesn't help that most achievements are stupid, like "Reach level 10", "Kill 100 enemies" or "Kill your first boss". Stuff that you do anyway, just playing the game.
As for seeing your own body and feet in first person, have you ever played a game where they did that?
Personally, I feel it makes your character feel so much more real, the same way casting a shadow does, or how sprinting makes your character pant. You are not just a floating camera.
Sadly, I can only remember having played one game recently which has this, which was Mirror's Edge. But this is offtopic!
It's not all about feeling rewarded for getting the achievement. I understand that there are people that just want to have a great RP experience (I know I do!), but I don't understand how achievements "ruin imersion" for Role Players.. when I get bored, achievements help sate that boredom with a small challenge and imo, getting an achievement just feels really good
I disagree. Oblivion is the only game where I've gotten -every- achievement. I want people to see that I love this series on my profile. So I want it Oblivion style. Every rank of every guild, every major turn in the main quest.
Maybe a few extra thrown in.
If all the achievements were easy to get, it wouldn't really show that you loved the series by getting them all. Just saying :l
To stay on topic~ I want to see something like "Avoid killing *insert important NPC's name here* in *so-so main quest*" and have it be next to impossible to avoid it.
