What kind of trophies/achievements are you hoping for?

Post » Tue Sep 20, 2011 6:13 am

I’m sure with all the hype leading up to the release date, there are some people that are going to aim to get all the trophies/achievements that skyrim has to offer. With the game being packed with so much to do, are you hoping for alot of trophies/achievements to obtain or perhaps a small amount but are harder to obtain? Lets face it, I’m sure Bethesda could cram in 100 trophies/achievements if they really wanted to. So what are you hoping for? A large/easy list, a small/hard list, or mediocre? (Can't enable poll option on PS3/computer = being repaired.) :P

When do you think we'll see the list anyway?

something that inspires you to play the game in different ways, not just reward you for advance in the Main quest.

Perhaps something like Fallout New Vegas' list? I thought it had great variety.

One hit kill a dragon. - It should be rediculously hard, and require your attack skill to be maxed, as well as a sneak attack critical with a weapon that's enchanted to be overpowered.

A bit much? :P

Although there should be at least a silver trophy/25G for each specific one we manage to kill. :)

Specific, scripted ones within the main questline I could see this happening with, but it's been confirmed that there will be random, unscripted dragons, as well. Too many dragon-achievements, and you risk watering down the prestige of it all, but if there are only a few of these within the main questline, it will have more meaning to the player for having earned them.

I suspect there'll at least be a "Killed Your First Dragon"-type trophy in there somewhere for your initial cherry-popper kill, similar to the "Closed Your First Oblivion Gate" award.

This is my list of some that I am hoping for:

Diabolus ex-machina: Completed 20 quests, in a way that benefits you but screws over the quest giver.

Dragon Tamer: Defeated two dragons simultaneously (not one after another).

Dragon-what?: Defeated 10 dragons without using a single dragon shout.

Fire with fire: Defeated 10 dragons, with the final 10% of their health being dealt with dragon shouts.

Authority Issues: Got caught committing 100 crimes, and then allow yourself to go to jail.

Equal Opportunity suitor: Married at least one member of every player race.

Invincible hero: Got to level 20 without dying once on at least normal difficulty, reload and god mode disqualifies.

The Greatest battle: Defeated Alduin on the highest difficulty setting, god mode disqualifies..

The true Dovahkiin: Completed all achievements in the game.

Achievements?

Couldn't really care less, they are kinda pointless.

I find it really odd and curious how people are so enthralled by them.

I don't care for achievements. If they come along as i play fair enough, but it's not why i play games. I do not specifically look for them. I don't care about gamer score either.
I know people who have rushed through games just to get achievements, then dis-regarded the game...missing things on the way. That's up to them though, each to their own. I've played games for a long time and i enjoyed game just as much or more without achievements.

I want the achievements to be achievements for doing special things, not how they were in Oblivion, which was an achievement for each point in a questline, which svcked imo.

I can imagine there's going to be the usual: Dragon Slayer: You have killed your first dragon!
Word learner: You learned your first word of power!

Hmm... do achievements require the Steam version of Skyrim? Or is Steamworks enough?

I love achievements and hope there is a wide variety of them, but this is eating me.
