What kind of weapons can penetrate Enclave power armor Advan

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 6:43 am

What kind of weapons would actually penetrate Enclave power armor, in Fallout New Vegas Arcade quotes about his dads armor " This was my fathers it will protect you from every thing short of a plasma caster." I doubt even if NCR troopers had armor piercing rounds it would go through it, I doubt any ballistic weapons could go through it at all except for the anti-material rifle and as far as energy weapons goes the pulse weapons and plasma and laser weapons would be effective maybe not even laser weapons. In Fallout 2 enclave troopers could take hits from rocket launchers and still survive. I thought it was really unrealistic that you could kill Enclave soldiers in Fallout 3 just by punching them or knifing them.

Well New Vegas and FO3 totally ruined power armor, in Fallout 2 anyone with power armor on would dominate your ass pretty much everytime lol. That reference is due to the way FO2 made power armor which is what they need to bring it back to. As to your question, plasma weapons, laser weapons, heavy weapons, Pulse weapons are especially effective but back in the older games FO2 and FO1 if you didnt have any of these weapons you didnt stand a chance.

Well APA is supposed to be highly resistive to laser fire and moderately so to most other forms of damage; shame I can beat five Enclave soldiers to death in Fallout 3 with a tire iron.

I don't know about Nv but in the old ones it was near inpenetrable. Energy weapons and heavier weapons were the only firearms I ever got punching through it, but Power fists on the other hand, especially the mega-variant, could punch through with little to none trouble. I once even killed an enclave trooper with one hit in the eyes.

If you get a gauss weapon you can start putting them down a lot easier, even APA can't stop a projectile travelling close to the speed of light.

Oh yeah, forgot gauss weapons, they're indeed the best to take down PA, or at least if you prefer ranged weaponry.

Gauss weapons have been done a dreadful dis-service by the new games, probably because Fallout 2 said that they fired rounds near the speed-of-light; they're really to OP to give proper service too at-all with the need for balance and all that [censored].

Agreed. Only microfusion cells for ammunition and oh-so-low damage in comparison to FO2. I'd prefer that they'd be lifted to their former glory, and if there's problem with balancing, just leave them for the later part of the game that has a real need for them. Even for the last mission, as long as they're done right.

Exactly. The next Fallout needs an absurdly powerful, long-range, semi-automatic M72 Gauss Rifle that bloody messes people with-out the perk and uses the proper bloody 2mm EC ammuntion. I mean christ they added the stupid Fatman in Fallout 3 when there was an actual in-game precedent set for having such an over-powered and relatively well distributed small-arm like the Gauss Rifle.

Ah well, an opportuinity missed too be true.

Its unrealistic and completely absurd. Its like their armor doesn't even exist and yet you get Brotherhood soldiers commenting on how they don't even know if their bullets can penetrate the armor, because its so advanced.

Go figure.

Don't forget the bozar in which you can mow down several apa wearing enclave in a single burst. This of course was I hear only possible due to a bug with that weapon.

Well let's see, the t-51b is lightweight and capable of absorbing over 2500 joules of a kinetic impact. It has a coating which reflects laser and radiation emissions without damage to the subsurface. The Advance PA mk II is made completely of lightweight ceramics making it even more durable than the t-51b.

It's resistant to explosive damage as well as most energy and ballistic, and is almost completely resistant to laser. It also happens to have servo motors giving the wearer a drastic increase in strength.

Lore wise, basically nothing short of high explosives, extremely high caliber rounds like a .50cal, or plasma or pulse damage would do much to the operator. The tesla armor mk II has tesla rods which disperse energy damage, making it possibly more resilient to plasma or pulse.

High-Tier Plasma
High-Tier Laser
Gauss
Enough HE to level a building
Mininukes(?!)

Im sure there are others, but all of the above *should* be able to damage APA.

If you shoot for the eyes you can kill Enclave in APA with anything...

My personal favorite is Red Ryder LE BB gun.

If doing non-aimed then the best weapons for the job is gauss rifle or the pulse rifle.

But, because of eye shots you can basically go through the entire game with a 10mm pistol or Desert Eagle.

However, nothing, beats the Red Ryder. Poof, dead. Btw, and not sure if I remembering correct or not but I think the red ryder had a good crit rate, but I can't remember if that was FO2 or 3 or NV....

Either way, it is hella fun wiping out Enclave with BB gun.
