I'd be tempted to make my spouse have exaggerated features, like a gigantic honking nose, just to see if the child REALLY takes on the traits of the parents'.... would make it easier for me to recognize "my" child if I happen to encounter him later in the game as an advlt: "Heeeeey, I know that giant honking npse anywhere!"
If I play as the guy, I'll probably have the spouse be a redhead or brunette.
If I play as the girl, I don't really care what the guy looks like since I don't swing that way >_>
EDIT: Post sounded like I was saying that I was saying people who change what their spouse looks like gay or bisixual, which isn't what I meant. I just meant that I personally don't much care what the guy looks like.
Sorry about that
I'm going to make her look as much like Jack as I can.
We should have an 'ugliest baby' contest when the game is released.
I'm going to make her look like Jason statham
Ha!
First playthrough, I'll make him look like me and her look like my wife (so we can maybe see what our advlt child will look like, if that's the way the game goes). For subsequent characters, I like to see what sort of odd-looking characters I can make, and what that does to the auto-generated relatives.
I liked the look of the default wife, so for first play through... I'll just leave her the way she is.
This won't end well I'll just end up designing my ex girlfriend and feel [censored] and go on an online dating site...
I'm probably just going to stick with the default spouse as A: both the male and female default look fine and B: we don't have any hard evidence that the spouse survives the first 15 minutes of the game, so I'm not going to lose sleep over a character who isn't going to stick around.
While you may very well be right that it won't matter, I'll probably end up spending quite a bit of time just playing with the character editor. I'll have to test the editor and try to see just how good I can make both characters look on the first play through. On subsequent games I'm more likely to accept the default if it doesn't matter.
I was going to model the male character after me
But less ugly
So not me.
/pointless self-depreciation
I'm gorgeous
This is the first good reason I've heard for being married with a child at game start
The second good reason is one I haven't heard yet: I get to create two characters instead of one
Hmm, maybe I should buy Fallout 4 to create loads and loads of characters, try to generate the weirdest offspring possible, and then let my characters create loads and loads of custom weapons; that actually sounds like fun. Yeah, I could play the Sims for weird babies, but the Sims is sorely lacking in the action department.
I've thought about making her Asian, just to see if I could and also because considering the war they just had in the game with China that would be kind of unusual. This would be the rebel couple of the neighborhood.
However the default actually looks pretty nice. I could just go with her ... if it turns out I can't make an attractive Asian woman ... which is highly likely based on my other tries with CC's.
If I can't make her look like Bea Arthur, I'm sending the game back with a very, very nasty letter.
Honestly, I'd pick Codsworth if it was possable.
