Well if it counts...

The trophies/achievements are here, and I believe they are related to challenges...

? 4 challenges
? Co-Opable ( I think)
? They unlock weapons & attachments
? 1 of them is to parkour around the map, and the other is to be a medic buffing people without shooting at all
? 3 levels for each challenge, easy, medium, and hard
? They give XP and go on global leaderboards
....... That's all I got

You unlock attachments from completing them, there are three levels to each challange, and four challanges.

You can play four player co-op on the first two levels and the third is solo only and your score/time goes on the leaderboreds.

Edit: ninj'ed :(

"Our challenges are entire scripted levels, which you can play solo or co-op. An example of one is a level we call “MEDIC!”, where you play as a medic on a team, where your only job is to keep the other team-members alive, while they complete core objectives. The trick to doing well in this challenge is being smart about who you revive, and when you revive them. If you win, you’ll unlock something cool, as well as a tougher difficulty level. And if you beat that difficulty level, you’ll unlock more cool stuff and difficulty levels. And once you’ve truly mastered all the challenges (which are fun mini-games in their own right), you’ll have unlocked tons of great stuff, and you’ll have learned a lot of the skills you need to do well online."

I'm not sure who exactly was quoted, but I do believe it was Rahdo.

4 CHALLENGES is confirmed.

They are very replayable, you can play with freinds to, and three levels of difficulty with the third being ranked on (global?) Leaderboreds.

It is'nt too little, but you will be playing everything else more then challanges.

I like it. Cool idea adding rewards and a global leaderboard for competition. Lot less boring than most tutorials.

Does give us ultra competative people something to do while earning guns and attachments.

They unlock WEAPONS and ATTACHMENTS (and perhaps clothing).

Also they reward EXP like all other gamemodes. Technically you can go through all levels by doing challenges only.

i'm surprised there are only 4 different challenges. It sounded like a huge gamemode itself, now it feels more like a tutorial. :(
But this is a great way to implement a tutorial i have to admit. Plus the Leaderboards for the highest difficulty sound awesome.
Looking forward for MOAR challenges in the future wif Leaderboards and new stuff to unlock. This game could be plastered with DLC, i have no problem with it and would pay gladly for it. New maps. New challenges. New skin packs. Capitalism Ho!

It's four challenges, but each one ramps up in difficulty. The three star challenges can get pretty rough.

With all the stuff to unlock, how do they spread it across 8 challenges (4 on 2 difficulties, because I heard, and by that I mean that I could be wrong, that the third difficulty is for a leaderboard spot and bragging rights, and not an unlock.) if they have numerous unlockable attachments and weapons. Do you just get a ton of stuff for completing one or do you unlock something new every time you beat it, so you must replay a single challenge to unlock all the stuff that it holds?

I'm curious to know if you will use your own customized characters in challenges, or are given a "stock" one to use. Do I really have to level a medic in order to increase my effectiveness during the medic-specific challenge? What if I don't want to be a light body type during the parkour time trial?

Asked Exedore over at the Splash forum, and he said there would be no clothing through the challenges - only guns and their attachments

A bummer, but not a biggie :P

Well if you don't want to be a light body type in a parkour then you might have a bit of trouble doing the parkour ..

HARD MODE PARKOUR CHALLENGE:

Clear the course under one minute as the Heavy bodytype

Heeeell yeeaaah

Except this probably wont happen, and the Heavies are restricted to vaulting over obstacles apparently

Having only 4 challenges (yes, I know about the difficulties) kinda bothers me, however I did notice a scrapped idea on the 5th Dev diary. From what I remember its says "Medic, tower defense" I guessing these are either two (or three I think I missed one of them) different challenges meaning that the tower defense was scrapped, or one whole challenge that was scrapped.

So 4, not 6, not 9, but 4 challenges is what we get?

4 x 2 = 8, they will have to fill out all the unlocks between these 8 (level 1 and 2 of the challenges)

.. This can't be right, no?

I think you'll probably use your character, but certain stats will be rigged for the challenge - body type for the parkour challenge, class abilities (or lack thereof) and single-class restriction for the Medic challenge, etc.

And...
HARD MODE PARKOUR CHALLENGE:

Clear the course under one minute as the Heavy bodytype

I'd love this too. Shame it's so unlikely - they'll give a course with a few REALLY time-saving shortcuts, and without taking at least some of them, the course will take minimum of 2 minutes, but some lunatic superninja (probably Wraith) will find a way to cut it back to 30 seconds.
