What little things, stupid or serious, do you want added to

Post » Fri Jan 21, 2011 1:07 pm

I know plenty of people have bigger concerns about what is or isn't going to be in Skyrim, but this thread is for minor details you would like to see in the game world.

For instance, I would like a taunt button. I want to be able to walk up to people and slap them.
I also want the world to be filled with tons of little hidden treasures, like the occasional knife hidden in a tree stump.

What kind of small stuff do you want to be in the game?

-Bats, which flutter around madly when disturbed, in certain dungeons.

-Characters' breath misting in the cold air.

-Storms featuring forked lightning.

-Butterflies and bees in the greener regions.

-Atmospheric wind and skirling snow sounds; distant wolf howls in the evening; ravens' croaks and caws in the morning.

-Interior window weather effects (rain & snow).

Punching people in the face with reactions like in Fable 1. It was just funny punching people, that made the wrong comments about you right in the face.

Throwing things, manually or by telekinesis, would be great as a tool of distraction when using stealth.

Yes please, the more atmospheric touches the better. I am also really curious if they have made any effort to let you finally look out of a building's windows.

This. Really missed this feature on Oblivion, which is missing. I thought it served as another incentive for playing a personality-centric kind of characters just in case they really need to get in a fight but don't want to get arrested by the officials as a consequence ("They attacked me first, sir. And I just happen to killed every single one of them in self defense. M'kay?". The one particular quest in the Council Club of Balmora with the Camonna Tong comes to mind. Plus, inciting a pub riot in Skyrim seems pretty fitting, drunken Nords and all.

Also, another small yet potentially very useful feature I had in mind is A JOURNAL. No, not the quest journal; the one where you can type anything you want in game to help you organized and stuff. Might be even cooler for those folks who like to write fanfic stuff (not one myself though, gotta say) if you can save the file in your computer or whatever the equivalent is one the console versions, and let you upload it for other to read. But mostly to keep you organized. And saves paper.

Dragon dung! :teehee:

Serious answer: signs of wear and tear on weapons (that are dynamic and not prelocked to the model).

Horse Armor!

Hmm...quests that are designed for an open world game....to big?

How about...armor dummies and weapon cases in my home where I can place my stuff out in the open and it won't jump all over when I come into a room.

Ok maybe they could have 'hovering', but I wouldn't want to get into a fight while hovering. You would have no traction, you swing a sword at someone and end up shoving yourself backwards.
