What is Lorkhan doing?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:17 am

True, but Tiber seems happy just chilling. He never actually had a face to face (To face to Face to Face to... Nevermind) with vivec.

Another one of my guesses would be that vivec is a giant monkey that become an apple.

Back to the topic: I have the feeling that somehow lorkhan will return, Perhaps with the dwemers? Seriously who knows.

I think "permanently retired" is a more suitable way to say it.

And we're all living off his pension.

If two people have CHIM, then two gods of all things exist. But everyone is everyone thanks to the dreamsleave. Half the battle to gaining chim is realizing this, yet still being yourself. Thus everyone has CHIM, yet no one has it.
That and they would get in a fight that ends reality.

Always with the fighting...

And it has little to do with being a god.

Do you really think two infinitly intellegent beings would like eachother? If there is one thing everyone hates its a smart ass, and when you can change reality to fit your opinion 100% of the time....

Indeed. Especially when vivec wrote them. Because vivec would never do anything to annoy an all powerfull being who holds grudges. Right?

Nope. Not at all. I figure CHIM is basically like becoming a god in our world's standards. That is to say, omnipresent, omnipotent, able to creation and change, unlike the Aedra who can only make, and the Daedra who can only change what's already there, etc...

But I thought Vivec had Chim, wouldn't that make him omnipotent?

You have yet to show me anything that would convince me two CHIM individuals could meet without destroying eachother, or swapping bodies so quickly that they destroy themselves anyway.

I repeat again, Tiber Septim had CHIM (according to the Commentaries. CHIM. Those who know it can reshape the land. Witness the home of the Red King Once Jungled. ), and Vivec has CHIM, and they have met one another (although Tiber may not have has CHIM at the time, maybe not Vivec either, and thus I could be making a moot point).

I'm not sure if The Many Headed Talos is good evidence that Tiber Septim had chim. After all, it was only written to (poorly) justify the lack of jungles in Oblivion.

Actually, he was quoting the http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/mythic_dawn_commentaries.shtml#3....not The Many-Headed Talos.

CHIM. Those who know it can reshape the land. Witness the home of the Red King Once Jungled.

The Commentaries preclude The Many-Headed Talos, not to mention they're actually in the game, so there's definately precedence for believing that Tiber Septim had CHIM even if you don't take Many-Headed Talos as canon.

From http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/vehk_teaching.shtml:
What is the Tower's secret?

How to permanently exist beyond duplexity, antithesis, or trouble. This is not an easy concept, I know. Imagine being able to feel with all of your senses the relentless alien terror that is God and your place in it, which is everywhere and therefore nowhere, and realizing that it means the total dissolution of your individuality into boundless being. Imagine that and then still being able to say "I". The "I" is the Tower.

Compare this to Zero-Sum, the state that Moth priests seek, in which they achieve profound enlightenment -- and then dissolve into nothing. CHIM is achieving such a profound insight into the nature of things, and still possessing an individual identity.

So, yes, if it is possible to achieve CHIM, then two individuals can achieve CHIM, and still be distinct individuals. That's much of the point, really.

He actually didn't.
You in the Fourth Era have already witnessed many of the attempts at reaching the final subgradient of all AE, that state that exists beyond mortal death. The Numidium. The Endeavor. The Prolix Tower. CHIM. The Enantiomorph. The Scarab that Transforms into the New Man.

So apparently, they are equal but different accomplishments. But, I suppose I could be wrong seeing as this isn't really cannon.
