What is Lorkhan doing?

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 7:58 pm

I have a pretty good feeling That practically all of the events of the main Elder Scrolls series deals, in some part, with Lorkhan trying to "reassemble" himself and/or enacting his little plan. I know he's trying to get his heart back because he's done that through his many "manifestations", such as the Underkings and perhaps Dagoth Ur in a warped sense, but...why??

What could he possibly want to do after he does that? I have multiple theories but I don't know which one to trust. May sound like a dumb question but I figured I'd just ask anyway.

Edit:
hell, what the hell was he trying to do in teh first place? I realize it was an attempt at CHIM, like Vivec states, but...how??

I doubt Lorkhan would manifest himself in a mortal form. I was always under the impression that Nirn was his manifestation in a failed attempt at... whatever the hell he was up to.

He's busy being non-sentient.

He has plans like cell division has plans. It's in his submerged nature.

What about Shor?

But you're half right... Nirn isn't his manifestation, but his brainchild. And yes, he failed somewhere along the lines, according to Vehk.

The Shor you're referring to is Red Mountain Battle Underking, correct? That's how I pictured him anyway.

Last time I checked he's busy ruling the Shivering Isles. Seems pretty sentient to me.

My little pet theory is that in one of the future games Lorkhan will regain his power and try to get back at the Aedra and destroy their creation, the aldmer and/or destroy his beloved creation Nirn in order to recreate it.

Lorkhan is indirectly but technically and literally the creator of Nirn. It'd be dumb to destroy it for that reason at least.

If so, then Indoril Nerevar is alive as well.

There have been plenty of reincarnations of Lorkhan, hasn't there. I always thought that the CoC is a reincarnation of the Lorkhan, because Pelinal was the Shezzarine (reincarnation of Lorkhan) and the CoC mantled Pelinal.

I thought it made sense for example, Little Lorkhan has a cookie. It's a very good cookie. But, a bunch of bullies took his cookie. Little Lorkhan manages to get it back. But, he finds a bunch of snot and ants on it. It's not a good cookie. He now wants a new cookie.

Indeed. Too early, I dare say. I mean, we haven't even seen the 2nd part of The Water Getting Girl yet...

To breath nothing, and to have your world in the veins. To listen to the trees; and feel the cold stone, and the grip about your mind. Not to question, but to answer quietly.

Ironic that Mankar Camoran's ramblings about Lorkhan being a Daedric Prince end up being half-correct.
