What is Love?

"But when Trinimac and Auriel tried to destroy the Heart of Lorkhan it laughed at them. It said, 'This Heart is the heart of the world, for one was made to satisfy the other." So Auriel fastened the thing to an arrow and let it fly long into the sea, where no aspect of the new world may ever find it.'" — The Monomyth

It is said that the Dwemer could not understand the egg of Vivec, because they did not know love. And that (perhaps) they also failed in their attempted transcendence because they didn’t know love, and they became the skin of the Brass God, instead of its maker and mother.

The Dwemer and the Altmer are not dissimilar in this regard, I think. And this isn’t because the Justiciars are generally twatty. ALMSIVI, or Talos were just as cruel, and at the same much more loving. We know what happened to the Dwemer, in terms of knowing what we know, and the Thalmor are similar.

What do they know of the Heart? The real centre of the world? Talos is Talos through a different way, a (separate) method from AlmsiVi, but still intimately related path. Vehk knew, and generously elaborated on that in a world where a Heart is the foundation, Love is the true path to transcendence. Why aren’t the Thalmor mentioned in the Fifth Era Loveletter? No, why isn’t any(thing) mentioned?

Should the Thalmor succeed in all they put their heart into, which they very may well, how will they confront the true Heart?

Know Love to avoid the Landfall.

I fear deeply for the Thalmor, because I do not think they know love.
