At what lvl did you do the Labyrinthian quest?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:34 pm

I went in at level 9 and by the time I got to the Dragon Priest I was a 10.

Ran out of magicka potions before I even go to him and to top things off Lydia die by Chaurus attack.
It was mostly a game of hide and seek at the end. Every time this guy would hit me it would drain my magicka so I would have to wait. What made it even harder was the fact my guy is a pure mage. No other weapons other than magic.

Had Fast heal on hand as well as Spark trap i could throw on the ground after figuring out what his movement patterns were as well as Fire Bolt because I was hiding behind a rock the whole time. lol

Took more than 30 minutes. :(

I did it at nearly the same level... and as Pure Mage as well, all robes no armor. Lydia died somewhere by Dragon attack outside Winterhold... but the strange thing is, her body just sorta vanished... could not confirm nor deny her death as she just was sorta MIA as well as KIA at the same time. Was pissed cause she was carrying a LOT of good high end items I was going to sell.

But....
When finally battling the Mage at the end, it was definitely a game of hide and seek...LOL His hits were hard and drained magicka, and all I could do to stave him off was hide behind a pillar to lessen the damage... drank every bit of the little heals and magicka potions I had just to keep alive and conjure a Flame Atrionch to battle him with me. Finally resorted to using the spectral bow, which drains and absorbs his magicka.... allowed me to finally use fireballs at the end to finish him off. Remember thinking to myself the whole time, "Who the heck IS this guy?!? Takes no damage.... hits like a freight train?!?! Who IS this guy?!?!"
When I beat him.... finally.... felt like I had actually done battle with him myself.... but was very rewarding!

I typically do this quest at a high level (i.e. 45+), as Dragon Priests are level 50 NPCs and I don't feel like slamming down 26 potions while using a lower-end weapon to slowly whittle the thing down. Then again, I typically spend quite a bit of time leveling and gearing up before doing any serious dungeon-diving, as some of them have high-level bosses and I want to be prepared before fighting them.

One potential downside is that by putting the quest off the fight becomes a bit too easy for some of my characters, but then I have other games I can play if I want insanely hard boss battles.

On my way to the college now to pick up the next quest which i believe is the labyrinthian one. Currently at level 23. Character mainly uses conjuration, one handed with a little destruction thrown into the mix. Heard it's a toughie but fancy my chances.

I've done it several times; lowest level was 10, highest was 14 - not too much different. If you have the Atronach sign (especially if you're Breton, you can be immune for 60 sec.) it's not that hard. It might actually be harder at higher levels since you'll get higher level Draugrs which can be tough. Morokei isn't much of a threat if you have high magic resistance.

I did it at level 56, I believe. I killed the priest with a Daedric dagger in a single power attack into his back. It sounded like this: *silence* ... *PLONK*.

Please do not post Spoilers in General.

People come to General to learn about the game without learning about what happens in the game. If they want to know about what happens, that is what the Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section is for.

Do not use quest details or location specific details related to quests/puzzles/NPCs in your posts in this section. General is for discussing gameplay and mechanics. General topics about the the game include but are not limited to races, items and their use, magic, enchanting, skills, character builds, criticism, praise, funny random things that happen, places from an esthetic standpoint and and other general topics.

Use the Spoilers Section if you have to post quest details or other spoilers or a thread about the same. This also includes console commands, and character build exploits.

I will move this now.

I did the Labyrinthian around level 12. I wished I had a save before entering so I could just wait till I was like level 20 to go back in. Wasted most of my potions on just the first fight with that stupid bone dragon and the final fight with the dragon priest just involved me going in and out of the room and hitting that guy with one or two spells till he was finally dead.

You've been doing this several times a day lately it seems. :)

Anyway, Labyrinthian; one of the games best dungeons. The first time I was around level 20 or so and it was brutal. The second time was with my pure mage character (who used only robes and no melee weapon too). I had my attack planned so well. I laid down a fire rune where I knew it'd be effective, I ready'd my protection by dual casting Ironflesh and then drank a bunch of Restore Magica, and had dual firebolts ready after getting rid of the two wizards. Then the Dragon Priest emerged, quickly moved to his left and then got stuck behind a pillar and didn't even shoot back. It was over in about 30 seconds.

Oh yeah, the bone dragon. He killed both me and Lydia twice. So the third time I took Lydia back into the other room and had her wait there. Then I went up to the gate while it was still closed and conjured a flame atronauch throuh the bars. It took two or three conjurations but finally they were all dead. But the skeleton dragon hadn't yet come to life. So I opened the gate conjured another atronauch and ran down the stairs to the other side of the room and watched the battle. Before one atronauch could die, thereby making the dragon attack me, I'd conjure another one. When the dragon's health got low enough I conjured another atronauch and then attacked it myself at the same time.

Doing that I don't think I lost a single point of health in the entire encounter.

The pure mage must work smart, not hard.

On this character I did it around level 25. I bum rushed in and killed him in a single power attack. Last character I didn't and it got ugly. The key was getting him before he finished standing up. Lydia was told to stay back.

First time I did it around level 20 or so, this time I should be around level 44 by the time I get there, I still have to go to Mzulft though. I anticipate the boss fight to be cakewalk this second time through, as I'll have all three Slow Time Words, and my character is an assassin.

First time I did it, I was around level 20 or 21. Morokei was easy because I was immune to his attacks. (Breton with Atronach Stone)

40 something - it was pretty easy. But if you are getting wiped, lower the combat level....

I believe I was about 25. It was a challenging but not frustrating fight. I just waded in wearing heavy enchanted armor and pounded him like a tent peg.

My little Khajiit just did Labyrinthian last night at Level 20 and it was really tough. There was a point at which I thought I wasn't going to be able to win but finally did when I realized that
Spoiler
Morokei was using Command Daedra and turning my conjured helpers against me...and they'd kick my butt.
I think I used almost every Scroll I had. It felt epic when it was finally over...a very memorable place. :tes:

I did it early (around level 10) and it was pretty tough. Just getting by the trolls outside was kind of tough.

Now I can go there and breeze right through like they aren't even there (level 59). I can actually just stand there now and let things hack at me and I barely take any damage at all. lol
