What Magic skill is you fav. and which one will you be playi

Alteration used to be my favorite, but with the loss of Levitate and Slowfall, its losing its charm.

If I'm using a fighter or rogue, restoration is pretty much useless. I can only cast one spell that only heals 1/5 of my health.

My favorite is Restoration, saves on potions or can compliment them, making my armor clad knight even more durable.

Conjuration is my least favorite, I don't really trust friendly AI

There is no mysticism

Mysticism is being taken out for Skyrim and being put into Illusion and Alteration

umm.... Mysticism is already conformed to be out becuase it was really redundant Todd Howard said, also in the GI issue on Skyrim it mentioned that the Mysticism spells would be tossed into other magic skills which is Illusion, Alteration, and enchanting :whisper:

Yes, I know Mysticism is already out, that wasn't my question.

My question is how do you know the spells will only be divided into Illusion and Alteration?

Don't forget Restoration ;-)
Since that school already has the magic resistance spell, I would not be surprised if the magic absorption and reflection spells join it, though it would make more sense for them to be in the Alteration School. I'm expecting telekinesis to be put into the Destruction school, with soul trap and detect life going into Restoration (since they deal with life energy)

My favourite magic skill (based on Oblivion game play) is Destruction, and my least favourite would be Conjuration.

French mag.... also just think about it soul trap- enchanting, spell absorption, spell reflection, telekinesis, and dispel- Alteration, detect life- illusion

Going to have to disagree on soul trap, and especially detect life. If detect life is an illusion spell I'm going to be a tad disappointed, makes absolutely no sense at all.

Dispel and the spell defences would work in Alteration though, and I think that is pretty much a given.

Destruction or alteration are my most used, least fav would be conjuration.
Least used will probably be enchanting, never cared much for it especially with the whole maintaining a charge bit.

I play spellswords who rely on destruction, restoration and illusion.
The schools I used least are alteration and conjuration.

My fav was Mysticism :(

Now I'll rely on Enchanting (my 2nd fav), illusion, alteration and destruction in a far, far 4th possition. Nightblade, assassin.

P.D.: I didn't/don't use to enchant weapons with destruction spells, but mysticism; absorb health beats fire/frost/shock 24/7 :) Paralyze+absorb health = Me is da masta!!!

Destruction is my most used but I like alteration and illusion the most. Destruction is the most basic along with restoration, but the best results always came from combining spell types.

Conjuration for me, destruction would be my second choice, then illusion.

My least used has always been alteration, not that I don't like any of the spells, I just don't find myself using it often.

I just love that Dremora Lord and his shouts when he's fighting so Conjuration is the one that always hits 100 first and Illusion is usually the one that's last in skill points in Oblivion. I use them all though and I think they're all important to my mage. I did discover that I really like Alteration a lot and that skill came in second in my stats in my recent game. Restoration is very hard to increase but I use it a lot instead of potions and get training to improve it more than the others.

This depend a lot of how magic will work in Skyrim: destruction and Illusion was very powerful in Oblivion but both required skill level 50 to be useful and 75 to be powerful. Also both required custom made spells, most true for Illusion as it was impossible to use on high level enemies unless you made a level 25 spell.
Alteration and restoration was mostly utility spells, feather and healing and any character used them.
Conjugation is another spell who is mostly utility, you are a better killer than the summons so it's main purpose is to keep enemies busy. should still be useful in skyrim.

I didn't like Oblivion's projectile only magic, so I never used destruction. I'm excited by the variety of ways it can be used in Skyrim, though, and especially by laying destruction runes. I'm not sure what my least favorite will be, but seeing as monster ai sounds like it won't be improving much I probably won't really use conjuration unless it has an interesting twist (lol bound armor).

This poll makes no sense to me. First you ask what skill I would use most then what is my least fave? How can you ask 2 questions for one selecetion? It should just be What spell you would use the most. For me it's restoration because I always need to heal since I get wounded alot. It's not my favorite skill but with you then asking what is my least fav skill it just seems odd.

Then you ask what skill I would use the least and what skill is my least fav, again confusing.

I thought there would be a poll for favorite skill but there is not. Just a bit wierd.

One of my main characters I make is a rip off of WOWs Deathknight

Nord with claymore, Conjure skeletons and do Ice destruction.
And now that Ice actually freezes enemies and slows them and there is always a mod for summoning more then 1 skele, its gonna be a blast.

Favorite is Conjuration and Destruction, cant stand Restoration, rather take potions.
