What meat do you like?

Post » Fri May 02, 2014 3:27 pm

As the title says, how do you like your meat and what kinds do you like? (Vegetarians and Vegans need not apply. Good on you if you don't eat meat but this is a thread about meat and I don't want meat vs non-meat diets brewing amongst posters please.)

For me, I mostly prefer poultry meals. I don't HATE beef or pork, but I don't go out of my way to eat it like I would chicken or turkey. I also hate fish personally. As for how I like it cooked, I don't like it rare. If it's pink in the middle, I will refuse to eat it. I'm too paranoid of diseases.

I love meat in my mouth. Especially beef and lamb. I am adventurous and like to try all sorts, though. Pork makes me feel weird.

I like my beef rare. Well done = ruined beef.

I like it all, especially if I shot it myself. I mostly duck hunt, but I do dabble in big game.

I feel weird when people suggest that. I find it tastes gross and just augh. I prefer the meat cooked through and through. I dont like the taste of rare meat, there's a weird bitter taste to me.

I agree with Moog. If I wanted to eat leather, I'd toast my boots.

I'm also known to enjoy meat in my mouth. :foodndrink: I mainly like lamb, although I haven't had any in quite a while. I'm not very picky when it comes to meat, but I generally stick to what I already like.

What is the one level of rareness above or below rare called? I think rare is too chewy for me.

I like just about any meat in my mouth, pig, cow, chicken, fish, sheep, whale, horse and it goes on and on, given the chance I'd taste any meat you could possibly taste expect human meat, I like meat but I'm not delving into cannibalism. XD Horses, cats, dogs, whales, all of that stuff is fair game though.

Also I want my meat well cooked, there is good reason we started grilling and boiling meat and I find it both more tastier and it's better for you too.

"Medium rare" is the cliche'/most popular done-ness. It's truly medium.

See I thought that, until i tried it medium and found how juicy and tender it was. It still feels cooked, it's more the texture that's different. So much more flavourful, and you don't have to chew like mad or drown it in gravy to make it edible.

Fish is always good. Tuna, salmon, etc.

I'm a simple girl so I get lots of chicken.

Meat is the main part of 75% of my meals, so naturally I like most of it. I'm not particularly picky on how it's cooked either, but I usually prefer it a bit rare. As for my steak though, always rare.

You've said it! :D

Well... I don't like it "raw," but soft and chewy beats leathery any day.

I enjoy meats like beef. I like some pork too but some just... it even feels like an impending heart attack as I chew, and I'm a really thin guy.

Oh goodness, I love so many kinds where do I begin. I love pork over everything else especially bacon and porkchops. Next is chicken, I love southern fried and buffal wings. Beef beats out fish because as much as I enjoy eating haddock and scallops they will never beat out a nicely grilled med-well tbone steak, or even a nice marbled ribeye for that matter. Burgers have to be at least 80% lean and cooked med well. Chicken has to be cooked well it always makes me nervous I never take chances, same with pork.

I eat meat every day. I have a garage freezer full of it. I just bought a six hundred dollar Weber grill yesterday to cook all kinds of meat this summer.

Yeah I love meat and proud of it.

I like all kinds of meat. Don't mind how it's done, as long as it not pink.

All kinds of juicy meat in my mouth. I would consider poultry to be most favored as well. Despite being a fan of seafood, I don't like actual fish (salmon, tuna, etc.). But shrimp or crab? I'll eat that any day. Beefs fine with me if done to my liking (medium rare). As for pork, I absolutely love bacon, but everything else is just meh. I can eat it, but I would much rather eat chicken or beef.

i like it chewy, crunchy, and well done. i want to tear into it and chew chew chew. i hate tender soft meat that slids down my throat before i am finished with it. i wand to pulverise every bit of flavour out. black charred meat is good meat. pink meat is sacrilege.

i love jerky above all other things, but i can't eat it because it hurts my gums.

I enjoy my red meat "medium-rare" although it's really hard to say if there's a difference between medium and medium-rare. Just barely :P. I also enjoy poultry. The only meat I don't really like I suppose is pork, but I still have yet to try stuff like lamb, rabbit, and venison, although I would like to one day.

I like most types of meat. Well done on everything though, if it's got blood, or even a hint of pink, I'm not interested in it.

Got some delicious Deer Sausage from my Wife's Step-Dad the other day. Yummy.....

+1

I stopped eating pork long ago for several reasons (none religious) and the only thing that I miss is proper bacon...never was a ham fan, pork chops made me gag and those butthole bone ham steaks are nasty.

I love beef best, the bloodier the better.

Thank you very much, I think I'll have a cow...preferably medium rare.

I also like pork, chicken, lamb occasionally, and on the rare occasion I enjoy...

bunny rabbits.

Mmmm, bunnies...with mashed potatoes and gravy.
