What do men want? : Othor Games

This question seems to be directed so much at women, but I reckon many women are wondering the same thing.

So, I figured this place has a lot of men viewing - what are your opinions concerning the opposite (or same) six? Is there a physical "type" you go for, or is it more a set of personality traits? Or are you fairly easygoing, and there's just a list of absolute turnoffs (like a no cats/dogs rule?), or a mix of the three? List your perfect partner here - I'm interested to see if there are common qualities that you guys love or avoid.

I watched a special on the Discovery channel that tried to answer this same question. Men want a small waist with wide hips, symmetry, a high pitched voice...Uhh..I can't remember much else, but those are a few things that men like universally.

I find that the more I get to know someone, my general opinion of their attractiveness changes. For example, I may meet a female who I think is average looking, but if I get to know her and she is very nice, I find that she is more attractive. As for physical qualities, I am not picky. Only bodily extremes would definitely turn me off on their own. But I prefer brunette hair and preferably comparatively tall (5'5-5'10).

Depends on the man.

I want to be able to crack jokes about my wife like I would a friend (after all we do constantly say that we are best friends) but it doesnt work like that.

As for my type of woman. I like thick redheads with wide hips, [censored] aren't nearly as important as a nice ass, she has to be funny, easy going. Not a control freak! Someone who can let things go that don't matter and keep things close that do.

I like sweet down to earth women who can hold their own and are ambitious. I find women with strong personalities very attractive. of course, i hope they cook well since they way to my heart is through my stomach

I dont know, but it seems that knowing there out of your league makes you want them even more.

I have started to get a major crush on this one girl who is a year older then me (she is 17) and i find her really attractive. I think the fact that i know she will say no if i ask her out is making me more attracted to her.

I definately prefer personality over looks, though looks dont hurt. I don't like girly-girls or anyone pertaining to the cheerleader/valley girl stereotype. Preferably a little emo or geeky.

Anyway, I prefer shorter girls myself for some reason. Not shorter as in barely 130, shorter as in not higher than 170. Centimetres, that is.

What's with you guys and short girls? Damn my 5'10" stature.

What men "want" is very.. oblique at times. I think it all boils down to biology. Most of our conscious thoughts are part of unconscious instinct.

But I think men and women alike both want a companion, to put it simply. Companionship is present in so many species and I feel is very important.

Boobs are nice too. One thing that makes me proud to be a woman. I have the ultimate mind control so close by! :spotted owl:

The first thing that attracted me to my wife was her hair. She's 5' 10" and when we first met her hair went down to her knees. What really brought us together was the ability to carry on intellectual discussions - it's not always a smooth ride (I sometimes over do the whole Devil's Advocate bit when debating which annoys my wife) but it's great to have someone to talk to.

Also, women are curvy.

On a more serious note, it seems like personality plays a more important role than looks (although hips and bums are mentioned a lot!) - good to know! I don't know about other women, but my Mum always said I wouldn't find anyone with poorly kept nails haha - seems that was the least of her worries...
