What Mods From Oblivion/Morrowind Would You Like For Skyrim?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 10:02 am

just a few mods i will probably use for skyrim that i used for morrownd and oblivion. alot of them ill have to wait and see how the game is but some of them i can tell im gonna need already.

obviously ill be using open cities :)

weapons and armor rebalance (ill make that one myself since im picky)

hunger/thirst/sleep mod

crossbows, spears, grenades etc

sailable boats

space cheese (completes mainquest for you after you have done it a million times)

somewhat goes with weapon rebalance but ill probably double damage across the board so that my character and mobs die in a few hits

much deadlier poisons and diseases

using GCD (morrowind) and nGCD (oblivion) were absolutely essential but it looks like i wont have to worry about that with skyrims perk system. i guess im one of the few people who hated the default 5x levelling system. im glad to see it go.

completely unlevel the game so that you have no idea what you will find..............it kind of already sounds like you can run into a cave and it will lock itself into a higher level than your character so this one im not to worried about. after playing oblivion with TIE though its hard to play level scaled games.

edit: cant believe i forgot hi rez textures....

Floating controllable fortress with a Prison that gives me a shout to send anyone I wish to that prison, by which they will follow designated AI packages for my amusment.

a Dwemer Airship for Skyrim

Elemental Bending ala Avatar: the last airbender (no not the crap movie)

Draugr onslaught : the old Warriors of Skyrim have risen, annoyed by the brother blood shedding, what was once a united Province of Men devolved into dissidence and complacancy, the Draugr intend on fixing that :D

Vilja!

And yes, an avataresque-bending-spell system mod would be epic.

Do you reckon anyone will do a Solstheim mod with associated quests?

I'm optimistic that I won't need so many gameplay mods - stuff to deal with levelling, magic system, the economy and so on.

But there'll always be a need for more quests, new factions - plus I hope that Emma does a new version of Vilja. I mean, Vilja's great grand daughter needs to be in Skyrim, right?

I liked the BTMod that made more of the inventory and map viewable at a time (as well as changing HUD display). http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1825 Maybe something like that if needed.

And of course, textures eventually.

Not really into the stuff like Vilja. I like being alone.

If there are a lack of Knightly factions in the game, I'll likely make a mod like that and ask people for voice recordings.

If there are some popular artifacts that are missing, I'll likely do that too

ALL HAIL MUFFINWIND!

Joking aside, there's way too many mods to list. I'd definitely like to see some version of the mod "Glenvar Castle" in Skyrim. Was my favourite house mod in Oblivion.

I dont think I'm going to wait to play skyrim just to put mods on I wouldn't be able to control my self knowing that skyrims out already and I'll have to wait for the mods to play it I can't even imagine this. so I will just beat the game vanilla style acouple of times then I'll mod up.

thats what i plan on doing. i plan on playing one of each type of archetype and then modding after that unless there is something that really bothers me. i absolutely had to mod oblivions level scaling otherwise i would not have been able to finish the game. it was akin to far cry 2s instant respawn checkpoints in that it completely ruined what otherwise was a good game for me.

I made the mistake of trying to beat Oblivion at a higher level. That was painful....

Now, I'm a level 92 Divine Crusader on max difficulty, trying to decide whom next to slaughter, all because of mods! :celebration:

I know what I don't want...
All those anime and six mods.
It sickens me and makes me wonder why someone would want to force that in a great game like TES.

I sincerely hope that Skyrim's modding community won't be based on this, like it has been for Oblivion.

Well there is too large number of mods to list them all just listing nicks of modders will take half of this page and I even still not found/create replace for all interesting morrowind mods for oblivion :ermm:

But certain I'd like to see as good example for Skyrim mods
Less Generic NPCs Project from Morrowind, since commoners now will not talk too much to be well done characters.
http://lgnpc.org/

Companion Vilja
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28977
and
Julan, Ashlander Companion
http://lovkullen.net/Emma/Kateri.htm
Great examples of awesome characters and personalities they actual feel living persons, it will be really awesome to see similar companion mods for Skyrim

DarkUId DarN with interface additions really awesome UI mods for Oblivion and if PC version of UI will be flawed such mods will really welcome

I'm really hoping for TES5LODGen.

I hope I can still make my Free Look camera mod, if they didn't already implement it in game.

I want all the mods I use that balance gameplay if they're needed. Which is a lot. I hope Skyrim will need less of them. :P

It's not like there were more 'other' mods if no one would make anime (or six) mods. The people who make these mods want to make them. If they couldn't do that they would go somewhere else. So who cares? While I wouldn't add anime mods to my game I find it entertaining to see how the asian (mainly Japanese, but there are also Thai or Chinese sites for example) ES community transforms their games into a JRPG. Who am I to tell them not to do it? And while it's not my cup of tea the quality of many of these mods is top-notch. I like diversity and I think it's fun to see the crazy ideas people come up with, even if I don't care for them.
