What Mods Should I Get?

Post » Sun Nov 14, 2010 7:27 pm

Hey all. I was just wondering what mods I should get for this game? I already know about the better bodies and better heads. I know there is an awesome mod that redid all the textures throughout the game and made Morrowind look 1000 times better. I forget the name of it though. Thanks again :)

Where did you hear about this super-huge-mod you speak of? Because it doesn't exist.

There are some large mods that cover all the architecture and landscape, but no one person has ever done all the textures in the game.
You need to use the work of at least 10 modders to update all the textures for the weapons/armor/creatures/furniture/misc objects/ingredients/etc, etc, etc.

The links above will provide you all the ways of finding the mods.

I can suggest you http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=136072&id=5685. It is the most useful mod I have ever made.

Then, here is my http://arcimaestroantares.webs.com/suggestedmods.htm

I just don't get why people don't use sticky htreads and the magical "Search" button. :/

I recommend:
Darknut's Greater Dwemer Ruins
MW Visual Pack
Better Bodies
Better Heads
the MW patch project patch
Assasins Armory for expanded weapons etc
Vality's Balmora, Ascadian Isles, and Bitter Coast addons, if your not one of the people who keeps their computer outdated to inconvience others(joking haha)
Melians teleport mod
many of the mesh fixes and updates
connary's textures as well as darknuts textures

I would consider these the most basic, although I am being a little lazy and not listing more.

Two things about the game which most people find they want to change: the leveling system, and the way plant ingredients are harvested (opening the plant like a container and then takng the ingredients, if any).

The most popular mods which change the leveling system are Galsiah's Character Development (my personal favorite) and MADD Leveler (I think that's the name; someone correct me if I'm wrong). I believe there are others, but I don't know them.

There are several Herbalism mods which allow you to harvest ingredients by just activating the plant; its ingredients automatically go to your inventory and the plant disappears for as long as it takes to grow back. Pretty much any mod with Herbalism in the title will work this way.
