What mods would suit me?

Post » Wed Aug 25, 2010 3:19 pm

I got the game back in 05 completed it maybe over 20 times and have far over 1000 hours of gameplay. I've barely touched a mod.

I really want to enhance my experience with the game, so if somebody could link to all the mods that will give me the following, i'd be really grateful:

Better Textures/Enviroments

Better City's/Revamped IC

Text font looks different when you talk to NPC's (i've seen this mod millions of times but don't know it's name.

Don't zoom in when talking to an NPC

New race's. Nice looking female elves :D

New weapons/armor/clothing

Better NPC face textures

House mod

Basically I just want a totally revamped game, that will make the main questlines fun :D

Don't zoom in when talking to an NPC

This can be done through the oblivion.ini file, in the 'my documents/my games/Oblivion' folder. Look for the line that says 'fDlgFocus='. The higher you set it, the less zoom you get. The default is fDlgFocus=2.1000 and I've personally set it to fDlgFocus=3.0000, which still gives you some zoom but not as extreme as the default.

Indeed. First time I read about that setting was at Arwen's site. So I began to use 4.5000 - as suggested there - until I figured out what suited me best. Now I can't remember what it's at! :) Oh well. It does suit, so it's all good.

edit: Oh, and here's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/advancedsearch.php many people seem to forget about...

Sulpyun's Moonshadow Elves is the most beautiful race I've seen - which doesn't say that much perhaps as I seldom check out new races ingame. Looks great anyway. Can't link directly but search http://www.tesnexus.com/index.php for it.

That is why, that's not your current ini but the default settings that is used to generate a new file in the event that your oblivion.ini was deleted. You can find the current oblivion.ini in your documents\mygames\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini.

I have my fDlgFocus set to 11.0000. I play in third-person, zoomed out just to the point where my character's feet are visible at the bottom of my screen. 11.0000 eliminates zoom entirely for me.
