What movie villain do you like and why?

I made a post on another thread about my favorite movie villain and started wondering what villains in movies do you like and why?

Like I said in another thread, my favorite villain is Sgt Morkav in the Gary Cooper version of Beau Geste. I like him, because even though he was evil, he was an outstanding soldier and I would want him to lead me in combat.

Stannis Baratheon from "GOT" and the naked lady from "I Spit on Your Grave 2010". Stannis for being a good strategist until the writers decided to butcher his character and the sixy lady for being a good writer.

Is Hannibal Lechter (Silence of the Lambs) too easy? I really liked his intelligence. Anthony Hopkins did a wonderful job with him, too :)

My first choice is probably Goldfinger. I have always thought Gert Fr?be did a wonderful job of portraying Goldfinger as alternately mischievous, ambitious, charming, controlling and intelligent. I can easily imagine his Goldfinger spending years patiently and meticulously planning such a caper. It's a vivid characterization and I think it works brilliantly in the context of that movie.

"John Doe" in Seven. He had a plan and he executed it flawlessly, poor Mills never stood a chance.

Hannibal Lecter is also an awesome character, a real gentleman, he is
Sure, also a cannibal, but hey, no one's perfect :hehe:

Bill 'The Butcher' Cutting from Gangs of New York. Undeniably the best thing about the entire film and one of my favorites performances by Daniel Day-Lewis, a character so ruthless and violent, yet had a sense of honor.

Scarr. Despite being lower down than his brother in genealogy, he fought to rebel against the status quo of unfair and immoral inheritance. As if this wasn't already a worthy cause, he also seeks to end the subdugation of the poor, downtrodden Hyenas who had, until that point, lived on scraps, chased away from the fertile lands by the evil, xenophobic lions. Here was a just Lion. One who stood up to the ruling elite in order to greatly improve the lives of those who were being oppressed. He even had to, sadly, kill his own brother in order to make this new society, this new dream of a better tomorrow be realised, which must be the ultimate sacrifice. Unfortunately he was, himself, later killed by his vengeful and petty nephew, Simba, who then restored the oppression of the Poor Hyenas and reinstalled the previous aristocratic elite. An incredibly sad end to a wonderful tale of the brave and noble Scarr.
