What movies will you watch...

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:32 am

In preparation for Skyrim? Any recommendations for movies that might relate to Skyrim/dragons/vikings or the setting?? I just watched "How to Train Your Dragon" for the first time, and am now wanting dragon mounts more than ever :P

If there is a movie that I think I will like, then I will watch it, regardless of Skyrim :D

What's that movie with Antonio Banderas as a crusader among vikings? I'll be watching that one.

PS: It's The 13th Warrior

I'll also watch The Vikings - (Kirk Douglas) Google told me that it was considered the best of the "Vikings" films. Loosely (very) based upon a real historical event and historical characters. Next to Spartacus, one of Douglas's greatest films.

He was in the new Robin Hood with Russell Crowe, playing Sir Walter Loxley.

Probably not many films. Though I'm sure I'll subconsciously end up listening to more solemn folk/black metal than I normally would. :D

13th Warrior.
But we already have that suggestion.

Not too many Viking or Norse inspired movies. Don't know why, the mythology is fascinating

Lord of the Rings. May at well immerse yourself in some form of dark fantasy in preparation of the game.

the music is by Jerry Goldsmith and its epic...haven't seen the movie and try the movie "Outlander" for dragons and Vikings (even though its an alien species)

Forgot about LOTR, good suggestion. The 13th warrior has a very viking/manly character. Watch it for +40 courage and damage against dragons.

I've heard Mel Gibson was wanting to direct a Viking movie with Leonardo Dicaprio. It won't be out before Skyrim of course.

Really? Nobody else is gonna watch Conan? It has the Governator, Max Von Sydow, and James Earl Jones!

Edit: Oh yeah, Red Sonya!

Nah, you have to listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn1ct1xomoY, authentic Viking music. I'll probably listen to them as I play Skyrim.

Edit: just linked it myself.
