What music do you listen to?

Post » Wed May 26, 2010 2:02 am

If you play on the PC, you can replace the vanilla songs with your own.
(If you're on a console, you can listen to your iPod, I guess. In that case, limit your list to 20.)

I've replaced the vanilla songs for GNR with these:
Bachman-Turner Overdrive - "Takin' Care Of Business"
Jonny Lang - "Lie To Me"
Mountain - "Mississippi Queen"
Joe Walsh - "Rocky Mountain Way"
Snake River Conspiracy - "Lovesong" (Cure Cover)
Talking Heads - "Take Me To The River"
Blackfoot - "Train, Train"
ZZ Top - "Thug"
Rush - "Passage To Bangkok"
Velvet Revolver - "She Builds Quick Machines"
Molly Hatchet - "Flirtin' With Disaster"
Gov't Mule - "Game Face"
Jethro Tull - "Locomotive Breath"
Fleetwood Mac - "Gold Dust Woman"
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Tuesday's Gone"
Blue Oyster Cult - "Don't Fear The Reaper"
Kenny Wayne Shepherd - "Blue On Black"
Danzig - "Mother"
Faster pvssycat - "House Of Pain"
Mott The Hoople - "All The Young Dudes"

I've considered using the http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1418 mod, but haven't sat down and did the necessary conversions to make the music work in game.
100 songs is a bunch.

What do you listen to when you listen to music while playing?

I liked the songs played on the GNR, so I did not replace it and always listen to it :)

Blue Oyster Cult - "Don't Fear The Reaper"

good taste, like it :D

It depends really. I have iTunes on next to the tv while I'm playing so I have a list three days long. I'll give you the 'Top 25 Most Played' list (shortened :D):
Florence + the Machine - Blinding, Bird Song ("held him down/broke his neck/taught him a lesson he wouldn't forget" :D)
Flyleaf - Chasm
The Pretty Reckless - Make Me Wanna Die (Kickass Soundtrack, love it), A.D.D
Aural Vampire - Hot Blood Workout, Madonna Schizoid
Kate Nash - Paris, Mansion Song
VersaEmerge - Past Praying For

I will also listen to the entire Sweeney Todd soundtrack. Depp and Bonham Carter version. The musical butchery while I slay fifty raiders is pure poetry.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't MWTCF come with the extra 100 songs?

Flyleaf - Chasm

I have their untitled CD. They have a cool sound.

It does, but the songs are all in the same genre as the vanilla songs.
I'd replace them with something I'd actually enjoy listening to.

Or something we all enjoy:

And if I want to go nostalgic I listen to old Final Fantasy sound tracks.

Hm...
I usually keep the normal radio up since I've always loved that kind of music. Usually when I want to add a little something extra, I'll turn it off and play some more Big Band type music. A lot of times I just stick to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy or Hit the Road Jack, but when I'm feeling different I'll just play a bunch of crap I've collected on my playlist over the years.

Alice in Chains
STP
Floyd
Sax heavy Jazz

Metal, mostly. Metallica, Disturbed, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Alice in Chains, Ozzy, all sorts of stuff. I just turn the music off in-game and flip on an FM radio behind me, so I don't have to worry about storing/jockeying my own MP3s WHILE trying to play.

Two thirds of the hits on that video are due to blind links like yours.
I've just now decided not to click any more links unless the poster identifies what they are linking to.

...
Tool
Alice in Chains
STP
Floyd
...

Nice mix. Tool is a big fav of mine.
Here is a couple videos you might get a kick out of...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-wE5LtDKPU (ie: Don't bum rush the dude that practices Krav Maga regularly...) Note that Maynard never misses a note the entire time he is putting the dude to sleep.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_c60Sp7Gtc

I personally play the game with headphones on. Totally for the immersion aspect. I live alone and my nearest neighbor is about a quarter of a mile away.
But if I want to listen to music while playing, it has to come from an in-game source.
Besides, there is nothing more cool than to walk into a shop after a hard day of adventuring, and hearing "Thug" playing on the radio ("...can't wait till I can do it again. Can't keep my nose clean, living in sin").

What fun! I can just see him planning with his buds - "the next time a crazed druken fan rushes the stage, Ima-gunna put the "death"-grip on his arze", makes for good video.

I use headphones also - on a limited bases - when the wife and kids are up...about 2am off comes the headphones and on goes the stereo.

"Thug playing on the radio"? ????huh???

I actually think its more immersive when there's no music. I usually turn off the radio, and turn off background music as-well. I just like it better that way.

Yep, I disable the background music too, and usually only listen to the radio when I'm in a settlement waiting on a NPC to appear or a shop to open for business, or if I'm tinkering around in the Maint Shed.

ZZ - how could I have not known? ...She don't love me, she loves my automobile....
duntdada...duntdada
Can you imagine, walking the none-so-safe streets of DC, listening to ZZ?

Daaamnnn.,... I think I'll start a new character...

BTW I just read your wall of text – killer tunes – evey one
Kenny Wayne… Blue on Black – that’s the schnictzzz

I can’t help running the “Clock Work Orange” and “Devil’s Reject’s” movie through my head when playing an evil character in this game. I usually do the head-phone thing, but sometimes a soundtrack fits the picture just perfectly!

"Blind, but now I see
Truth, lies, and in between
Wrong can't be un-done
Slipped from the tip of your tongue"

KWS can make that guitar talk, baby... no doubt about it.
I think he's right up there with Joe Satriani, and Peter Frampton.

Rob Zombie is okay, but I really have to be in the mood for it to listen to him.
