What "needs" importing into BashPatch?

Hello all and thanks ahead of time for any replys. I appologize if this has been discussed before and I missed finding the topic. I'm posting this in its own thread because I think its really outside of the technical scope of what the WryeBash thread is for IMO, but if I'm wrong let me know and i'll ask a mod to remove it and i'll post there.

As for my question. I've been using Oblivion mods and Wrye Bash for a long time, but I've always had a question about what "does" and "dosn't" actually "need" to be imported to my bashed patch. I think I'm pretty sure of a few things, like; [Merge Patches], [Import Graphics], [Leveled Lists], and [Race Records], but What about the other things? How important is it that they be checked to import? I have a few others like [Import Inventory], [Import NPC Faces], [Import Names], [Import Relations], [Import Scripts], [Import Stats], [Content Checker] checked, but when I go through the checklist I do see that others have things in them that could be imported as well. The reason I have and havn't imported some things is because i don't know how they will effect non-imported mods, which is essentialy the reason for the question. Every import check that I have checked, I also checked off everything within the container as well, which also leads to; "Should i be importing everything within the containers as well?". Mod makers aside from the bash tags don't usually discuss how some of these things should be imported.

Tomlong THANKS for that, that helps a lot. I've read through a couple things rebuild my bash patch and gonna test it in a bit, and even found the section on outdated optimizations. Really does help. I havn't located a spot that explains exactly "why" things need to be checked and not, but I will read through the site and get a bertter understanding of what is being done.

To learn what each of the tags does, read through the Wrye Bash ReadMe (click on the help icon in the bottom-right corner of the Bash window.) The tags are mod-specific. Why a specific mod has a certain tag can be very hard to explain. You should mainly trust the mods' ReadMes and (even more so) the BOSS masterlist, for your tag suggestions. (BOSS is just more up to date than many of the mods it sorts.)

And I say about the non-merged, because i recall at some point a while ago, I had to unmerge something or another cause my save either didn't start or crashed at certain points, and i think i resolved it to an incompatibility between something merged and something that got overwritten because the bash patch was lower in the list, but with the sites suggestions I'll test now, and see how it goes.

Uncheck green text, purple text and italicized-text plugins, UNLESS they load after the bashed patch. Deactivating and merging plugins loading after the bashed patch defeats the purpose of their loading after. There should be no reason you have to unmerge plugins merged into the bashed patch (properly).
