What New Magic Spells would you like to see

Post » Sun Jan 09, 2011 1:02 am

If you could put any new magic spell into the game what would it be and feel free to be as crazy as you want.

For me personally I would like there to be the ability to shape shift to different animals, such as a wolves. Not only would this be cool but it could have other advantages and disadvantages for example as a wolf you could run faster, gain the ability to follow a scent (for example if someone has disappeared you could find them easier obviously however there would need to be a way to follow clues as well so that players without the ablity to shapeshift could also complete the quest, you could gain special attacks because obviously you can't use your sword. On the other hand you would lose ability to cast other magic spells whilst in this form, your health would drop to say 30% of your overall health, afterall you wouldn't have any armour and finally farmers may instantly attack you. Also how cool would it be to be able to transform into a eagle and fly across the map.

Now I am not saying these should be low level skills a player should have to work towards it and would need to be pretty good at magic, maybe say 75 skill points in whatever magic school it was included.

I would personally keep it only to animal forms and not shapshifting into zombies or skeletons or goblins, but your comments are welcome

Sounds cool, but I don't think this will be featued, at all. They can't make room for everything and anything in this game, and I'd say they'd benefit more from other features than this.

I'd rather a revamped conjuration system with multiple summons and raising the dead than shape shifting

more things to summon and a better conjuration system as a whole, in oblivion the conjured creatures didn't do much damage

A better conjuration system would be good but it just seems that in a world full of magic it the most obvious thing that is missing is shapshifting.

I don't expect it to get included it is just a wish like many other topics, such as people wanting spears which would also be cool.

I think the Daedroths and Xivilai were good you just needed something like 90 skill from what I remember
Spider daedra was fun to watch as well
I will definitely max conjuration in Skyrim too

One that levitates the enemy for X amount of seconds then wears off making the enemy fall from high up and possibly die on impact.

lol really? I just used Summon Headless zombie + ShadowShape to finish the arena quests at level 4 lol.

As for spell an improved telekinesis, as in push back arrows and stuff like that.

I want more necromancy - focused spells. I've always felt that the darker side of magicka has been neglected in TES games.

Oh, quite a lot...

Shapeshifting (I remember how in Gothic I you could turn into a beetle and squeeze through tight passages, or in Gothic II shift into a sheep and get through a horde of orcs without having to fight), fleshcrafting, telekinesis (that actually accomplishes something), magic/gold/ingredient detection, long-lasting reanimation, longer or mana-sustainable summoning, time-rewinding, time-slowing, time-stopping, time-accelerating, short-range teleportation, transsubstantiation (Oh, a hail of arrows! Oh, an irritating rain!), conjuration of magical time-bombs, mind control (that actually lets you possess the victim's body), silence effect that blocks dragon shouts, sleep, flight, and Summon Haskill.

And many more but, uh... after playing so much "Mage the Awakening", no video game will ever fully live up to my expectations in terms of magic again.

Shapeshifting please. It's the only thing I sorely missed in all TES games. If running through air (levitation) looks stupid, then why not transform into a bird and fly away?

Combination between elements fire and ice (in each hand ) to create steam or just water. It also applies to others permutations : fire and lightning , lightning-ice, summond fire atronach + fire spell (increasing the strenght of the creature) etc.

@Illumanati, not only shapeshifting into animals, but also into other people, murdering someone and melting into the crowd with a new identity
