Not to burst your bubble, but I believe it is the same 10 races as before.

Which is a good thing!

I'd rather have Bethesda make each race more unique, rather than having 20 races that have pretty much the same gameplay.

Yeah, already confirmed to be the same ten,
and there's not a lot of options for more races.
At least not in Tamriel..

edit: Although I wonder when we'll get to actually see the other 9 races.
Screenshots and concept art so far only depict Nords.(or at least I assume they're all nords.)

Whaa- you mad? Most games don't give you 10 races. Most fantasy RPGs I've ever played gives you only 3-4, with some variations in between.

TES gives you 10 unique ones, with their own cool background and stuff. They can't add new races because all races are already established in the lore. Unless they want to give us variations for each race, so we would have... I don't know? 3-4 different Argonians, etc. But after all it would still count as 1 race.

I hear they've already added Falmer (Snow Elves) as a new race. (Though it's been established in lore as Existing)

Rather than disrupt the lore, they should split the Khajiit into 2-4 races. (2: Cathay and Ohmes-Raht. 3. Cathay, Ohmes-Raht, and Suthay)

I could see the Cathay, being the second-largest of the humanoid Khajiit and therefore most naturally insulated as being well-adapted to living in Skyrim. They're also the most balanced between Martial and Stealth. Suthay(-raht) are plentiful in Morrowind, so they might come over. The Very Human-like Ohmes-Raht are stated to be the most numerous breed outside Elsweyr due to their similar appearance to men and mer (With only a thin coat of tawny fur and a feline tail to differentiate them from Elves. No, they don't even have cat ears), and it's time that's reflected in the games. It also gives Furry-haters an incentive to play the Khajiit. They're also more stealth/magic oriented than the Cathay.

I highly doubt they'd implement the Alfiq-Raht (Arcane-oriented Khajiit about 4x the size of a Housecat, coming up to a human's knee) or Senche (About the height of a horse, slightly broader, twice as long, and significantly stronger). Senche-Raht (Cat the size of a small House) is right out.

The problem is, there are actually only 3-4 real races in TES: Humans, Elves, Orcs, and Furries.

Only new race I'm hoping for is a return of the Dwemer if you break the world enough.

Sloads. Too slow you say? Levitation and teleportation.

We really only have 5 races:

Humans
Elves
Argonians
Khajiit
Orcs

Edit: above already said

quality > quantity

maybe just physically define them more. In Oblivion all the races looked human, just some were wearing animal masks. I like the way that different playable races were treated in Mass Effect, ie; big necks, 3 fingers, backwards knees.

Sloads hate adventure. It wouldn't be logical.

Not only this, but there are a bunch of other restrictions that makes sloads just a plain stupid race to be playable.

Imagine then, having to teleport and use levitation skills and spells every single damn time you want to move your big fat jelly butt?

No, leave it out of my Skyrim.

For the youthful creativity of the original poster, I must admit that seeing an oceanic ("fish") and avian ("bird") race included into the game would be fascinating and even convincing for the geography of Skyrim. Mountainous terrains and beachy surfs galore!

Yet, just because we include new races into the lore does not mean that they should be playable. If they were to insert these two new races, they should be creatures and nothing more.

We can put some Kamal in your copy of Skyrim if you'd like. I'm sure they'd love to kill you.
