What objective would you most like to play in Brink?

Right what it says on the tin - What objective would you most like to play? I personally think a Capture the Flag variant would fit well in Brink, what with SMART and whatnot. Parkour and stealing vital information is a match made in gamer heaven.

I always like CTF, so probably that. Capturing intel plus SMART will make it fun.

I dont think theres any CTF in Brink but there probably is somthing LIKE CTF, which is a good idea, somthing like, TF2's capture the intel thingy, or an objective where the resistance needs to capture some sort of object from the security to completle another objective.

I would also like to see, POOT DISPENSER HERE, and GET ON POINT STUPID!

I always liked having to sit in a certain area for a time limit to capture a zone.

I was replying to the OP, as you can see, our two posts were within seconds of eachother, I was just stating i don't think there will be any CTF like in halo or what-not, so people don't start asking for that, but god knows they will go head and say it anyways :P. Then i said i would like to see somthing similar to TF2, where each team has to infilitrate eachothers base to get there info, i would want to see something where the resistance have to enter the security HQ or something similiar and take a item of importace, such as some intel for there next mission, or some type of explosives.

I want to capture a person. KO him, bag over his head, over the heavy's shoulder, and get back to base. They can "re-capture" him by cutting the cable-ties around his wrist; once that's done, he's back in the game, ready to shoot.

Then again, maybe disable the VIP from using anything but a pistol. Make it seem like the Secret Service tossed the President a side arm and said "Use this if you have to. We'll protect you."

Salt was a good movie, I agree. It would be even harder if the VIP could parkour everywhere.

Amen! Loved every bit.

I like the Capture-the-VIP idea. It should be a bot with its AI toned down so it's not much of a threat on its own.

When he's in the base, Operatives can interrogate him to unlock new parts of the map, like interrogating him for a code to a gate or something. This should take a minute or so to give the opposite team time to free him.

I think that's the stuff they're trying to break away from though. Stuff where it's a repetetive action until you reach a certain score.

Having a CTF style game in which one team has to capture something important and return it to their side, while the other team plays defense fits more in the current scheme, same with a simple person capture, etc. but once you include the idea of both sides trying to do the same thing or one side doing it repeatedly, it breaks from the suggested direction of them game.

There are ways to structure them more thematically to make them viable, but it would seem that the simple "back and forth" objective games aren't what SD wants here.

Nah, I think people would have fun playing as the VIP. I think you could make it voluntary, or pick by who got the most XP last round, or one of a number of methods of selecting the VIP. I also think it would be most fair if each team has a VIP to protect, preferably both being the same body type so the Resy guys have a slow heavy to cap and the Secs have to chase down some light jumping from tree to tree al nimbley-bimbley. Actually, they could have a preset character for the VIP, so neither VIP or team is at an advantage.

They could also just have one team attack the VIP, and the other defends. That would make it simpler for players new to the game (type).

i think this would be a good idea. no repetitive action. When you start the game you see a capture sign above their flag but your flag is invisible to you, only the flag carrier on your team can see where your home base is ONLY while he's carrying the flag. the rest of the team only ever sees the home flag when somebody picks it up and then if it is returned it is returned to the invisible home point, also the flag locations would switch after every flag capture. and it Shall be called Flag Frenzy.

Oh and btw if an operative performs an interrogtaion then your team gets to see where abouts the flag is a large circle will appear covering 25m around the flag base on the map

Sounds rather one-eyed and one-handed. I'd try it, but I imagine the community would like a little more info than that. By which I mean, the soldier ready to cover the flag carrier isn't gonna know where to go to expect enemies. He can only kill until someone has the flag, then chase them and get shot at. If he turns around to shoot enemies, he loses track of the only guy who knows which way to go.

Interesting, no doubt. Like I said, I'd play it. However, my opinion is just that most of the community won't be excited about playing such a gametype.

i'd hate a CTF mode but what i'd REALLY play is the capture the rusty-old-revolver-and-some-leaflets mode.

We are not talking about modes, we are talking about objectives. So a CTF like objective would be my fav. unless another objective comes up that I like more.

To be honest I would not love the idea of a VIP objective since my "combat tours" in SOCOM have taught me, is that VIPs are usually drugged, beaten, and punched in the nuts because as soon as you ask them to follow ya, they can't even make up their minds on how to follow ya.

Sorry for being ignorant, but what does this mean? I've heard "Rusty Revolver and Leaflets" quite a few times, but I don't have the slightest idea on what it means.

I'll most likely play the "grab and go" CTF missions more often than others if not VIP Transport.

I like the idea of being the Heavy that gets you in and out, but its your job to run with the money.
I played Soldier in Team Fortress 2 dominating CTF, hated the other classes besides Heavy. (logged something next to 3800 hours on Soldier alone).
