What i offer, what i demand...

Post » Sun May 01, 2011 7:56 pm

Soon we will have images, more trailers, interviews and more else.....

But how can we wait so long?

In the meantime....

I offer to Bethesda:

- My patience. I'll do my best to wait and wonder.
- My money. I will update my PC to run Dx11 at top levels just for you.
- My personal marketing. I'll tell every gamer i know that your title is coming.

I ask to Bethesda:

- I ask, in return, stunning graphics that do not require particular mod, at least at first. (people, lights, environments) (it may sound silly, but i think that windows light at night was a FUNDAMENTAL mod)
- I ask for a game where i can taste the same freedom as in Oblivion and at the same time i could deeply (not just some options) rule a family, company, a guild, or a kingdom, and develop a real character, a world where i could buy AND build things, like houses, castles and more. Make me FEEL the real power of a single player experience!
- I ask for a game that does not crash every time i exit. One that is not a mere console porting. One where Dx10-11 is not just a marketing logo with few real game impacts.
- I ask, if the game is recommended for mature audiences, that there is no censorship or hypocrisy and that all narrative tools, in the right measure, can be used; from violence to six.
- Not another MUTE hero.
- Finally i ask for green forests and sparkling lakes, fertile plains and snowy mountains, mighty castles and epic ruins.

Do we have a deal?

Well every gamer not living under a rock will know about Skyrim by the time the hype machine is working fully so you haven't got a lot to offer. You're also way too late to have any impact on the overall product.

So you should probably just hope that it's good :P

All I ask if non player leveled NPC's.

If I'm level 3 and decide to run into a ruin I expect to be slaughtered by an ogre!

Lol

What if they said no, and didn't release the game.

That would be pretty funny.

Aha! But now they will make all enemies into rats that will only be dangerous at level 1! Your wish fulfilled, and corrupted... Hihihihihihi...

I agree with everything the OP said other six. Leave that to Bioware with Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

I agree with the NPC request. I modded oblivion that way.

Of all the gamers i know (wow guild, multi-gaming clan, friends of all kind) a great number of them buy games only after others they trust tried them.

As for game development i can only hope..... and propose deals!

WEB 2.0 FTW.

Heh, what if I have the same to offer, but want the exact opposite of your demands? :o

I'll let Bethesda do what they think is best, they haven't made a bad Elder Scrolls game yet IMO.

I'm not quite sure you're in the position to bargain, I'd say major aspects of the game are already set in stone.

With only 11 months to go, the game is probably pretty far along. Bethesda have never made a game I didn't enjoy so Skyrim is going to be awesome, not much we can do now but wait.

People will be depressed because there aren't any screenshots of the game 24 hours after it was announced.

Then hopefully acceptance that good things are on the way, so we can stop complaining about a game that we know nearly nothing about at this point!

Damn, It is hard to believe its really coming. I think you do ask a little too much in your bargain though. You also have to say that you will buy the most expensive special edition that they make. Then your bargain is reasonable.

Of course. But.. don't you find my demands intriguing? I dream for a game like that, and i am ready to bet many of you does.
All i can do, since i am not a software house, is ask..... at least we have the forums. ;)

Haha well personally in respect to your demands, my "demands" would go along these lines:

1. Gameplay > Graphics. I'm expecting graphics that are improved over Oblivion, but not unrealistically high, closer to Fallout 3.
2. I totally agree with the freedom aspect, it's what makes the elder scrolls games so great, freedom to live your life in another world. So long as it's not instant power here you go (like fable or whatnot) it would be nice if there were better relations with a guild after you've completed its main quest.
3. Totally understandable, but it's more likely that the game will be targeted towards the console audience, it's where the money is.
4. M rated game with extreme gore and six? Oblivion was initially rated T so that it could reach a wider audience and produce more sales. I have to say I'm happy with the way The Elder Scrolls games have been in the past, plus if they sell more copies it's more likely they'll continue creating the series.
5. I would prefer the hero stay mute as always in TES.
6. It's an Elder Scrolls game, this is a given ;) (Although there will be a lot of snow, I wonder how many fertile plains we'll encounter).

I completely agree with here, but i wouldnt mind if you could choose a voice set for your character, but i think it would be too much work..

You say reasonable things, but I want the limit to be pushed higher and higher, so that the entire industry is being forced to improve.
I'm happy if the game would reach the widest possible audience, but i hope that doing so does not preclude anything.

Ps. It will not tolerate another game where everyone is talking except me!

Skyrim is going to be awesome, i have the feeling it's better than Oblivion and maybe even Morrowind
and if you think a bit you will come to the conclusion 11 months is not even a year

So which do you prefer then: Bethesda decides what the hero sounds like, period (one male and one female voice set for the protagonist) or Neverwinter Nights Mode, with 20 mediocre voice sets each for male and female characters?

Yeah, count me as another vote for "leave the hero mute."

How about.. Nobody talks except the most important characters, like in Morrowind. That way we get more dialogue. :celebration:

Okay seriosly i want fully voiced characters and each race with own voice or at least i want the good old Dunmer male voice from Morrowind.

I prefer to have a choice, than having none. 2 voices? Ok. 20 voices? Even better.

You want none? Turn it off. You have your way, i have mine.

Everyone is happy.
