With the finishing moves etc I'd be surprised by anything other that 18 or M, perhaps 16...

Oblivion was 16.

And unless the "more gore!" people actually end up being right, I doubt the content will be much different than Oblivion was. :shrug:

Hmm, good question. What was Dragon Age: Origins PEGI rating?

They've said they aren't "aiming" for a rating. However, based on the throat-cutting, realistic stabbing effects, more visceral fighting, etc., I'd say it may well be M. I don't care, long as they tell a good story.

Well, it'll obviously be M in the US, since our rating system doesn't have as many levels. But the PEGI system has more choices.

Of all the things in Dragon Age I don't think it was the finishing moves that pushed it into "M/PEGI18" territory. Or maybe it was, who knows?

The blood splatter, going soleley from the trailer and GI screens, seems to be a bit Dragon Age-y, with spots of it on the Dragonborn's face after killing the Dragon and it dripping on the sword in the troll-fight. So it it is a gore question then it'll probably match. If it was all the sixual references, then who knows, but from my understanding we are a bit more prudish here in America when it comes to that sort of thing and age ratings.

I don't know about PEGI, but I do know they're anticipating an M ESRB rating. However that translates into PEGI I guess would be the answer.

PEGI: 18
Aussies: Banned, just like everything else that is fun.

Anyway, if you start from Oblivion's rating of 16, and add more realistic and brutal combat (+ probably more things we just don't know about yet) then my guess is 18.

The only other game with really close-up first person finishing moves I've played, Dark Messiah, got the 18/M rating and it was probably in no small part due to the finishing moves.

Wasn't the first trailer PEGI 18? I would guess that.
