What perks could they possibly give to Pickpocket?

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2011 11:37 am

This baffles me. Could there be some other application to the Pickpocket skill besides picking pockets?

How much can they realistically get out of this skill?

putpocket perks (or reverse-pickpocket)
Stealing weapons off enemy's hands, etc.
Maybe a perk related to looting?

Increased Chance to successfully pickpocket someone, In oblivion when you Pickpocket someone and failed you couldn't do it again, so maybe you can do it again if you failed?

Maybe we can pull a Kender and say the following to someone who catches us,

" You dropped it. I was giving it back to you." The Deniability perk
"Amazing! I have one just like it." The Coincidence perk
"I was just holding on to it for you. You never know when someone might try to steal it." The WTF Bluff perk

Hopefully they have the equivalent of planting grenades/mines on people's pocket to see them explode/combust.
This is like the only reason I ever pickpocketed anyone on my Fallout 3 Sneak character.

Maybe if we could plant scrolls and make them go off after X amount of time.

OH OH! I KNOW!

You can now pickpocket two items at a time instead of one.

Not to pooh pooh people's ideas in this thread, but most of those perk ideas sounds pretty inconsequential compared to every other perk we've heard of so far. Less likely to be detected while pickpocketing? How could that even be a perk when that's the entire point of the skill?

the ability to pickpocket them as you walk by them, bumping into them from the front. Assassin's Creed style.

Pickpocketing people while in a conversation with them, the ability to pickpocket by bumping into a person while not sneaking, disarming and unaware opponent and reverse pickpocketing. I see all those as plausable.

It's just as much about where the skill starts as where it ends up. If level 1 Pickpocketing is as barren as level 1 Sneak, there's plenty of room to move upwards.

Being able to knock someone out and then take from their pockets when still alive....would be nice for those who want to do banditry. (Not that I expect to see it).

Several ranks of "remove hot flag" perk. Only useless items being able to sell at first. With one rank you get to sell silverware. With another, some family heirlooms that are engraved so you're now able to remove the engraving.

Perks that enables you to evaluate a target and see what much worth he is. Like being able to separate a duke from a commoner.

Reverse pickpocketing and have him arrested. Nice way to get rid of someone without resorting to killing :)

Well if you pickpocket a woman might there be a perk called "Steal Panties"

steal enough and word gets around and you can never get married in the game

then you could start a collection and hang them on your wall of your cave since your now a permanent hermit.
