What platform are you going to play on?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:40 pm

I'll be buying the Collector's Edition (once it is announced) on Xbox One. Mainly because I played the other games on 360 and I'm partial to keeping my gaming history/achievements on Xbox Live. Also, by the time the game is released Xbox One to PC streaming should be available, so when the TV isn't available I can still play through my PC. I'm also a purist who prefers the vanilla experience to begin with, and don't care too much about graphics in a game like Fallout. Later on I'll inevitably buy the GOTY edition on PC. I might even grab it on PS4 once it hits bargain bin prices. I usually somehow end up buying all Bethesda games at least 3 times over

Also, in the very back of my mind I know Bethesda has a history of favoring the Xbox and they used it as the lead platform for Fallout 3. You'd always see them using the 360 controllers in their demos. DLC came out first on 360/PC. With the PS4's popularity and the similarity in architecture hopefully we won't have a repeat of last gen's problems. Xbox One might even end up being the version that suffers because it's the least popular now..who knows. Still, Xbox is where I'm starting out.

PC. Because mods is what sets Beth's games apart from the rest.

Definitely. Mods make the replay value of the game go way up.

I have a good gaming pc,xbox one and ps4 and i chose the ps4 for this. Not really a fan of xbox this time around its more a media device. I also prefer a controller over keyboard for games like this.

Knowing me i will still get a pc copy later on as well lol because why not...

I do that with every Bethesda game. I get the console version first because my PC is old and I end up getting the game later on when I don't need a strong comp to play the current Bethesda game on ultra graphics.

Pc for me. I only own the Wii u and a ps3 and then older consoles.

I wont get a ps4 or maybe and xbox until probably 6 or 7 years from now. Nintendo consoles and my pc are the things I keep pretty up to date with.

Xbox one initially but if the process to verify/accept mods from Beth gets to be a pain or there's mods I want and they won't let me have, I'll pick up for PC. That's really the only concern I have

Im surprised to see less (marginally) votes for x1 than ps4 considering the whole mods situation and Bethesda's history with Playstation glitches...

PC because if third-person turns out to be poorly designed and neglected, there is a slight chance someone will mod third-person to be better optimized.

I want to pick the game up for PC for basic quality of life mods (unofficial patches, UI mods, etc.). Unfortunately, there's no site where I can put in my computer specs and get a report back of how good or bad my system is. Currently, I've got a preorder on both the XB1 and PC versions at my GameStop, and will make my decision once I know what the specs for the game are.

Also, as a side-thing, could anyone give me any feedback on my setup? Main things are:

Core: Intel i5-3570k @3.40 GHz

RAM: 8.00 GB

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series, AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x6819), Internal DAC (400 MHz), 4095 MB approx. total memory

The fact is, while I put this computer together myself, I did so by going to some forums and saying, 'Here's what I want to run' (it was mainly Skyrim), and was given a list of parts, which I then purchased. I don't know much of anything about the stuff I put together, so I don't know if I was given a bare-bones build that needs to be upgraded, or if I got a good build that will last for a while.

Also, per a post earlier in this thread, I went to 'Can You Run It' and checked if I could run GTA V. According to it, I meet minimum specs, but don't meet recommended specs. That gives me hope that I've got a decent machine, but I'd like feedback from people who know what they're talking about to confirm. If worst comes to worst, I do have some money set aside that I can use to upgrade anything that needs upgrading, so I'm not really stuck with the current hardware, but I don't even know if an upgrade is needed.

Ps4 because I REFUSE to upgrade my pc for a 3rd time. It's just not worth it to me to upgrade it again when I can just pop it in my ps4 and play it without having to spend a couple hundred more dollars just to play it in a slightly higher resolution and frame rate.... And I can easily live without mods.

Too lazy/cheap to buy and support a gaming PC, so Xbox One it is. I might have leaned towards PS4 (which I tend to use for most multiplats), but mods coming to X1 first was the clincher.
