What platform are you going to play on?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:15 am

Xbox One is my primary console, so I'll play on that first. I'll almost certainly play it on both PS4 and PC eventually, as well.

Likely X1 at launch since I do not think my PC will be able to play it well. I will be getting the PC version later. Likely the PC version will be for mods and the X1 to play Vanilla when I feel like playing the game with no mods.

PC of course, for the mods, and UI mods if needed.

Playing a BGS game on a console is basically playing 1/4 of a game.

No this isn't any PC mustard rice thing. It's just how it is with Bethesda.

I'm still deciding. I need to see what the system specs are first.

X-Box One. That's why I even got the console in the first place, because I suspected that Bethesda games would run poorly on the PS4 if their games for the PS3 were of any indication.

Nope. Both the PS4 and the X1 are really similar in terms of hardware. The reason why Bethesda ports for the PS3 were horrible was because of the awkward hardware design.

Yeah, I'd say hardware has definitely improved since the PS3, so I don't think anyone with a PS4 has anything to worry about.

As for me, probably Xbox One, unless I get a better PC by then.

I took an oath! I swore to play using my PC when available and in disgrace when otherwise.

I swore to protect the integrity of the PC and to fervently despise those who do not.

HEIL GABEN! HEIL GATES! Death to all who oppose us in our struggle!

Those who are inherently superior use superior platforms! Those who are inherently stronger use stronger platforms!

We will take our place as the true masters of gaming and preserve this, the greatest platform above all, or we will die trying.

GOD BLESS THE PC MASTER RACE!!

Get a life, boy. Just enjoy the game and stop trying to start flamewars. ^^

I can't wait for the specs as well.

I will be hoping Bethesda has integrated how ENBoost works to separate RAM from VRAM into the Game :stare: I will be using My current Desktop even if Bethesda has not done this.

I've been playing BGS games on consoles since 2002 (Morrowind), and I agree. Bethesda games are absolutely at their best on PC.

Brother's rig runs The Witcher 3 in Ultra (hairworks off, though). Looks like I'll be spending some months in his house so I can play FO4.

My PC can't even run Borderlands 2 in Ultra.

Do you already have a PC that's likely to be able to play it?

PS4. I prefer playing on consoles since I made the experience that its more stable and more comfortable. And I never cared about mods, I think especially RPG's like Fallout offer enough content without mods (have spent hundreds of hours in F3, but still there are places I haven't been and people I haven't spoke to. And Skyrim for instance is even bigger)

General rule: If your PC can handle GTA V, it will handle Fallout 4. I'm sorry that I can only give you the extreme end of the spectrum, but that is the rule of thumb. GTA V, despite heavy optimization, cannot be run by 83% of computer models and more than 99% of computers in existence. It is so intense that a CPU capable of running its ultra settings has not been invented yet for the consumer market. I will investigate the old Fallout 3 engine, which looks similar to this one if not the same, and I'll assume upgrades compared to other more recent engines and update histories to determine other comparable games but ATM I can only give you GTA V as a placeholder.
