Aand Cevat is going to blame the horrible C2 sales on piracy, and there goes the franchise. And to make everything even better, 10 bucks say that the game ends in a cliffhanger, like every EA-sponsored game ever.

75% of gamesas users are buying the Pc version...but Crytek is still developing a console-game, due to the higher sales figures... they give a **** on their PC Community, but it has still the highest percentage

It has alot to do with the fact that PC gamers tend to frequent forums more commonly than console gamers. No idea why, perhaps it's because you guys are already at your computers or something :p

I'm becoming more and more confident that console sales will top PC sales, as Xbox users seem to love the game, and there is a decent PS3 following on the official Playstation forums.

Need an option for "none of the above" since there doesn't seem to be a version designed for PC. Someone at Crytek must have forgotten that PC is a totally different experience from consoles and should have been treated as such.

Unless game support aiming while you play on pad it is physically impossible that aiming will be more precise on pad than with mouse (and every1 know that playing with aiming support in any game is lame). Also keyboard + mouse give way more possibilities to customize buttons, etc. to each player own preferences while pad have only ONE setting (ofc. you can change something there but it doesn't make sense or it's just pointless).

So keyboard + mouse is more superior in matter of playing FPS than pad. Just some people don't want to see it /or agree with that fact.

It's a matter of personal preference, not fact. If you like the mouse and keyboard, great! If someone else like using a controller, that's great too! It's nice that these days people have options.

Well yea, but to have options and which gear is better, that two different things. One way or another control (moving/aiming) on pad is less precise than via keyboard/mouse, and if you like it or not, it is a valid factor in discussion about which control gear is more superior.

There is no doubt that aiming with a mouse and keyboard is better than with a controller.

But aiming is not all there is to liking one input method over another. I for one really prefer holding a controller in my hands, getting vibration feedback, and the layout of the buttons better than using a keyboard. And while my aim with my PS3 controller is not as good as with a mouse, over the years I am more than good enough with it to do amazing in single player without aim assist on. And single player is why I am buying alot of the games I buy. When it comes to multiplayer, that's what Battlefield is for.

If I decide to buy this game... I'll buy the PC version. It's all advantages.
No need to pay for a ridiculous online subscription for MP (Xbox live), you can choose which map & gamemode do you want to play, no limited graphics quality, You can use both 360 controller (or any other) and a mouse/keyboard, you can install mods, edit textures, etc...

Does console version have any advantage?

Does console version have any advantage?

-No DRM or Steam
-If you are not a "hardcoe gamer" who needs to be an early adopter of every console and game, consoles are cheaper in both the long and short run than PC gaming.
-Easier to resell consoles games if they end up being crap.

**************LATE EDIT**************
-Fewer instances of hackers on consoles.

I used to like controllers more, then i started playing on PC more :) The fact is that vibration does not make up for the lack of immersion that arises from not having true control of your character. If i want to turn a 180 using the mouse, i can, with a controller i slowly (relatively) wheel around like i've got some crippling mobility disease. Also, increasing sensitivity doesn't help because then you aim like you have a nervous twitchy arm.

Controllers are just not very good for first person shooters, and are far less comfortable too. If you think your kb+m combo is uncomfortable, then you're doing something wrong (or have bought something wrong, like a terrible chair, terrible keyboard, terrible mouse ect.) :)

There is an argument that aiming on a mouse is more precise, but anything else is purely down to taste.
It is not simply a fact that mouse and keyboard are superior, many people are capable of doing just as well with a controller. Plus, controllers have an advantage in that their buttons are more ergonomically placed, and easily identifiable by touch. While this may not be an issue for people used to playing KB+M with a custom setup, the buttons mostly feel the same, and so making mistakes at a vital moment is more likely.

That, and PC gaming is FAR more expensive than console gaming, for relatively little advantage (aesthetics)

On PC and XBOX 360, because PC has the most beautiful graphic and XBOX 360 has the greatest multiplayer experience.

The keyboard doesn't give you true control over your character either. Video games can never give you true control over your character. You can not move your body and head independently no matter what input method you use. If you get knocked down for whatever reason in a video, you can't roll your body to the nearest piece of cover. It makes you stand back up before you can move again. And you can't communicate with your team in most cases, and the few games that allow it only have basic commands. Nothing compared to what you can say and ask in a real situation. And that's not including the fact that no video game has made players deal with the realities of injuries.

Wrong. System Shock 1.

It's also damn near impossible to actually play like that without a pad like the n52te, and it's more like controlling your character's hands and body separately, than head and body, but it's still been done.

You've got separate controls for walking, looking and aiming (which is fortunately enough linked to the mouse).

Proof? (trick question, as gaming costs about the same irrelevant of platform, if anything PC gaming is cheaper on the whole due to a) steam and b) not needing a separate PC.)

I was not arguing if it was enough or easy to do. What I was debating was the notion that Comfy Chair was trying to convey which was that mouse and keyboard give you more control over your character. I was stating that the amount of control over what the player can do with their character is the same on both input methods. And by control, I mean the things you can make the character do, not how accurate aiming is.
