What to play after Skyrim?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 8:17 pm

So after I have finished the main quest line and gotten smithing/enchanting to lvl 100, which literally means the end of the game as everything becomes easy mode

And after raging nonstop playing "permadeath" mode (thing where you create character and quit it once he dies 1 time, I call it cancer mode as it strips the will to play), due to being disappointed that I am "clever" enough to survive most of the oddities of the Skyrim world just to be owned by a mob that decides to do a finisher on me while I have 85% HP

I have decided I am done with Skyrim, any suggestions on another good game?

Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. I can recommend those with no reservations whatsoever. Awesome game, incredible, amazing. Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are awesome too, if you haven't played them yet.

EDIT: Also, while I've had a "finisher" or "execution" done on me when I've been below maybe 20% health, I've never had it happen to me at anything like 85% health.

Have you tried a higher difficulty setting? Maybe tried avoiding the smithing-enchanting loop to avoid getting overpowered?

More skyrim?

Lets see... 15th is early access for SW:TOR if you are in on that, 20th release.

Uncharted 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations. Morrowind? :tes:

Why not start a new character for the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood?

Have you done anything with the civil war yet?

Not saying you have to do all these things, but I usually enjoy playing multiple characters so that I can do different questlines and have different experiences with all of them.

That's a good point. I don't see how anybody could do everything with one character.

Get Morrowind, get the best mods for it and go to town. Still love Morrowind.

My suggestions for other games, if you haven't already played them: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2, Dungeon Siege 3 (yay mindless fantasy action/strategy games that are pretty)

Morrowind still is my #1 suggestion though.

Yea I play on expert mode, youd be surprised how much finishers mobs do at that difficulty and not to mention master. Some even one-shot you (cave bears)

And once you get 100 enchanting/smithing it doesnt matter what difficulty it is, everything is easy

Thanks for the suggestions

Same here. Well, until now. After reading these forums, I felt that it behooved me to create multiple for various quests.

Mass Effect 2 is the best game; you must try it if you have not. If you're into FPS games, then give BF3 a try. I, personally, love it; though, to be honest, I haven't played it ONCE since Skyrim has come out!

I so desperately want to play Batman: Arkham City.

Actually I am kinda already done...joined the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves guild, Companions, and other little ones. Only thing I didnt finish was collecting some masks and getting all the dragon words

Is Morrowind better than Skyrim? Never played it before, or Oblivion

You won't be disappointed. If you played Arkham Asylum, everything that game got right they did right this time around. The basic game mechanic is the same, but there's ton's of outdoor action, swinging around from building to building, and just tons more content. There's a leveling-up system that allows you to improve armor and gear and adds new combos, and the sheer size is awesome. New characters...the whole thing is just great. It's truly a near-flawless game.

OP: Try Skyrim again without the smithing-enchanting loop. That being said...Oblivion was a great game, but it Skyrim is light years beyond it. Going back to more primitive graphics in this sort of game will likely be difficult.

Well if you're one of those lucky bastards on the PC, then play modded Skyrim.

If not? Play.........Tetris. :hubbahubba:

OP, just because you finished the main quest and all the guilds doesn't mean you're "done" at all. All the cities and other towns have multiple quests, and there are dozens and dozens of other dungeons that all have their own in-dungeon stories. I'd say about 60%+ of the content in this game is totally unrelated to any guilds or factions.

Smash KingTudar for suggesting Final Fantasy xiii, it svcked and svcked hard.

The rest of his suggestions have merit.

Also on the final fantasy bit if you have a PS3 the store has older Final fantasy games and other JRPGs available.

And now to throw in something I will get smashed for, the Xbox ubisoft Naruto games Rise of a ninja and broken bond are excellent. The fighting game part is okay I guess but the adventure mode is a action RPG which uses a fighting game mechanic to resolve combat, the story is actually pretty damn good. It shocked me, I worked in a comic book store for over a year before I "lowered" myself to reading the shonen jump manga and I found out that Naruto and One Piece are actually well written titles and I love One Pieces art style. The Ubisoft games follow the earlier parts of the comic really well and are a blast to play. Sadly whoever did a similar thing with the playstation games may have done a better job at the fighting game but a much worse job on the story/adventure mode.(okay the first one was pretty good but ultimate ninja storm 2 svcked)

The benefit of the naruto games is you can probably pick them up for $15 in the used bin at a gamestop.
