What Power Armour Weapons Do You Want To See?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:48 am

So we've seen the power armour. We've seen the customisation, and we've seen the minigun. The armour itself has been discussed at length. How does it work? When do we get it? Will it be restricted? Does rebuilding it involve a quest? Most questions have been thoroughly pawed over.

But what of the weapons? We've seen the minigun, but what other weapons can we equip with our power armour on? Are certain weapons only available for power armour?

Personally I really want to put some giant power fists on mine. I generally play sneaky types, so the idea that when I get into power armour I can just run up to Deathclaws and punch them Hulkbuster style would be a great change of scenery.

What do you guys think?

I doubt there will be PA only weapons as it would stir up accusation of beth favouring a PA using playstyle. As for what we can use, well ranged wise I suspect any rifle or bigger, maaybe pistols but then there is a large risk for akward clipping

melee wise I do suspect melee weapons only, cant see you using any unarmed weapons with a PA hand (tho Im sure you can "bare" hand fight unarmed)

You can use the minigun without power armor, yes its so big it would be fitting if it was power armor only, perhaps an smaller gatling like the shoulder fired one from FO:NV without.

Me I want the M2 http://www.inetres.com/gp/military/infantry/mg/M2/M2HB_6.jpg

in short its the full auto version of the antimateriel rifle. Old weapon so it exist in the fallout universe too, just need carrying handles and an better trigger system.

An recoilless gun for shooting the mini nuke more like an missile, main problem with the fatman is the short range.

And yes some big melee weapons, and yes the M2 need an bayonet of fitting size :)

don't think the minigun is specific for the power armor, maybe ripping it off the vertibird in that quest, but not its use

since you see a dude in a business suit use one in the combat demo just fine

you can probably equip most everything, but maybe you dont get slowed down as much with giant guns like the minigun without armor or something like that

i'd like one-handing a super-sledge though with the power armors amped up hydrolics giving me a boost

Shoulder mounted Gatling Laser and a Super-heated Bumper Sword....

(then I might actually use PA at some point in the game).

With earlier acquisition of power armor, I quite like the idea of melee weapons. Supersledge with power assisted swing? Yes please. We'll save the ordinance for credible threats.

I'd want a flamethrower that actually acts like a liquid based one with a relatively large range(about 20-40 meters max as opposed to the 5 ft flamer we have now), something akin to the flammenwerrfer or the M2 flamethrower from WW2.

With destructible environments, the ability to break through walls and flatten people like the Kool-Aid man. Oh yeah!

An ion cannon (Unreal Tournament style) would be awesome. It should be absolutely massive and be plugged straight into your PA's energy source, causing a massive drain in power.

Not sure if this counts but bullet deflection so that when someone shoots you there's a chance of the bullet bouncing off and hitting them.

I don't know about the latter part, but I do believe PA actually does deflect bullets rather than just doing damage mitigation.

The promo video looks like it features a jump pack. Wouldn't it be awesome to rocket jump in power armor and just LAND on stuff as a weapon?

Jumping on stuff to kill it? It's like my childhood has come full circle.

Edit: I'm talking about Mario, of course. I didn't jump on small animals or anything like that. >_<

That's more of a Physics issue than anything. Bullets do seem to deflect/Ping off of the armor if they are small caliber, but Deflection of the rounds that are small enough to bounce off would require the person to be incredibly close to you to damage or even hit the Attacker. Bullets Rarely ever bounce straight back. It's always Off at an angle, or along the surface that the bullet struck. So a bullet hitting Your companion, or a different Raider off to the side would be more likely than going straight back at the shooter.

This is A Video game, so I'm probably looking too far into it, But I think a lot of people would find it a little too oddly convenient.

Totally with you oldschoolbro. We both know Powered Armor is just the thing to kick the armored ah "shell" of our opponent into a second attacker too.
