I've always used guns with the first play through so I'll most likely stick with that. Then I'll use energy weapons with another play through but because I so rarely use heavy weapons I might make a heavy weapon build for FO4.

My main guy will use Guns.
My girl character might use melee. Maybe. Or she might just use whatever she has but as little as possible.
My bad guy will use Energy Weapons.
But Guns has always been my main weapon. Firing bullet just feels better to me.
I did use Energy Weapons a lot on NV tho, and it was great. Making an Energy Sniper type weapon.
Sighted rifles and explosives. Never really been a grenade person but I love trap like explosives.
Electric weapon? Are you saying the Pulse Rifle is confirmed to return in Fallout 4?
But I'm all about the energy weapons in every Fallout game since the first one. Primarily fond of the Plasma weapons specifically, although the Pulse Rifle of Fallout 2 and Metal Blaster of Fallout 3 were pure badass, so I'm open to any kind of energy weapon.
I'm looking to make an energy weapon shotgun similar to the Metal Blaster of Fallout 3, only this time a plasma one. I am hoping to replicate a play style I did in Fallout 3, when dealing devastating sneak critical damage with the Metal Blaster.
Guns. I prefer the sniper type, reach out and touch someone.
Energy weapons; probably mostly plasma because it's awesome. I shan't be playing a weapons-heavy character first time, however; my first character will be high Intelligence, Charisma, and Perception, with a focus non-combative skills like medicine and logical debate/speech.
While I would probably go EW, this somewhat depends on how viable the melee and unarmed(power fists) combat is. Especially if ammo has weight(which I hope it does), going with a good melee weapon or unarmed can really help with your weight limit.
I'll probably start out with guns. However, my play style can drastically change depending on the perks available. For example, I went from shotguns to sniper rifles in NV after I took Boone as companion and got the spotter perk.
big guns must destroy all xenos mutants and heretics
basically my default character in fallout games minus the super cool factor

I will be using the mysterious stranger magnum my second play through.
Are you 15. Btw., why are you still around?
I'm probably going to build a semi automatic rifle for far and mid range, and laser guns for short range...for sure, a headlmap needs to be attached with shoelaces so immersion is raised. And I will probably 360 throughout the game like a sportive hypster on crack.
First roll will be a cannibal who uses energy weapons to cook his food as he kills, now that's fresh!
so undesided like all the guns regaless of being energy or gunpowder. and i like being able to smash people in the face too. (talk a bout person in a candy store wanting all )
I've always been a hunting rifle kind of guy, because of its ubiquity, versatility and, in the case of FO3, because it was the iconic weapon. This time around it's the laser musket that's center stage, so that's my pick. As backup, I hope I can craft a laser pistol with a beam splitter.
I'm not a fan of electric weapons but im certainly an energy weapons fanatic so i'll be using those.
Really electric weapons you couldn't say energy weapons?
I love energy weapons, so I picked that one, but I like the regular guns too. Depends on the the type of character I'm playing - techie science nerd vs. someone more practical and down-to-earth. I tend to use unarmed as backup though. Could never get into melee for some reason - there's just something far too satisfying about smashing someone's face in with a power fist...
I do like explosives as well (though in the vanilla game they tend to be way too weak - fortunately there's mods for that) but only really focus on them if I'm playing a loner type. My companions tend to stand too close to mines or chase after my grenades and get themselves blown up. (Crossing my fingers for some better companion AI in FO4...)
Mostly guns. Shotgun, pistol, assault rifle, smg.
If the situation call, i use some manner of melee weapons as backup together mines and greandes.
Likely guns, if only because I'm certain that the ammo for them will be a lot easier to find - especially early on; and because I've never been too keen on a lot of the science perks in the previous games (except the hacking ones for terminals).
That one guy who will be using explosives versus the world. =P
You mean energy weapons?
Also, I believe small guns and big guns are now simply guns. Which is where my adventure will begin =)
