What props would you like to see in new vegas?

Post » Wed Sep 29, 2010 2:51 pm

Okay so basically, for reasons I won't go into here, I need to make a bunch of 3D models that have a practical application (in this case, use in the game fallout)

But I'm pretty much out of inspiration so are there any static meshes you guys would like to see in the game? (i.e. buildings, statues, props, board games, furniture, electronics, etc...)

Please post any suggestions below and I'll be happy to put them together and texture them for you =]

Thanks

P.s. If you like any of the ideas below, seconding them may well encourage me to make them a priority.

p.p.s. New Vegas is currently not working on my computer so I'm having to use the FO3 filepaths for these models. If anyone wants to volunteer to reroute a few textures in nifskope I'd be very grateful.

Ideas.. you can find many images of the couple requests on image search for google.

Buildings:
pyramids -stone or glass would be neat. (Luxor hotel in vegas?)

statues:
Anubis statue

Artwork?
Not sure of whats in the public domain, but art might be nice to have. I am sure there is something that would be free to use :P

Does New Vegas have any sort of loudspeakers? The kind that could be mounted to a wall. Like for inside a vault, so that the overseer could speak through a microphone and have it be heard around the entire vault? Not like an intercom. If it doesn't exist it would be nice to have one.

Boxing gym, and the things that go with it. (Boxing ring, punching bag, speed bags, etc.) I always enjoyed becoming a Prizefighter in Fallout 2, and was excited when I saw Boxing Tape and Boxing Gloves and then ... disappointment.

Not saying that I would definitely work on a boxing quest-line personally if I had the resources, but I would like to see it done. Enough that I would be tempted to make an attempt if the resources were available.

Another type of vending machine would be nice. One that doesn't have any wording on it, so we can put whatever we want in it.

For artwork anything from the louvre would do. Infact, pictures of the interior would even work for me. There are a couple nice pieces of art from Mona lisa, or various french revolutionary paintings.

Image search google: "louvre art"

That should give more then a few ideas for artwork! :)

Horn speakers, that's the word I was looking for. :P

That drives or just a static? Cus I can only do statics/movable statics atm

Also povuholo, check vault 92 in fallout 3. That's where they did the sound experiments so if there are speakers anywhere it'll be there =]

Okay the mesh is made for the personal vending machine! Linky: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15457

It is also textured but the texture paths are for fallout 3 (I don't know why but new vegas hates my machine).

THEREFORE, if anyone would be kind enough to re-route the textures so they can be used on NV I'd be extremely grateful =] And you'll of course get credit in the NV release.

Hope you enjoy it

Buildings that resemble the ones we saw in Megaton, basically buildings that'll work for a real junktown, that preferably fits with most of the doors in the game already. That would be pretty awesome, My heart sank like a stone when I saw that only two buildings from Megaton made it into Vegas, those buildings are perfect for building improvised towns.

Hey again Urge =]

I'll see what I can do. I'm actually building some atm but they're more like african mud huts than megaton style. I'll see what I can do though.

Mavkiel, I've done one frame for you, it currently contains the Mona Lisa but I've built it so that the picture and info plaque textures are easy to change hopefully. =]

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15458

You'll need to edit/find someone to edit the texture paths in nifskope though, as nv is messed up on my comp atm, so I'm having to use the FO3 Files =[

Not really a fan of the shape, though that's not to say it's not good. It's unusual but that also makes it unique. At any rate, I can't do [censored] in a 3d modelling program, so the fact that you got this as your first result is impressive, it really is.

You know I thought that when making it.. I think my others will be more average looking. This one's a little large and unwieldy, plus like you said, its unique so not ver useful for town building..

yuk...that's what these guys are wearing on there heads--- > :intergalactic:

Anyway could you make the letters of the alphabet so we can use them each separately as to make our own signs, FO3 GECK had all of them but NV only has A,R,M,O,R,Y :banghead:

thank you

Yeah, NV only used those letters to spell "Mayor" in Nipton, and nothing else. That was one of the most handy props in the GECK, why would they not leave those in? In fact, why not leave all of the assets in and save us modders the headache?
