What Province did you want TES V to be in before you knew it

Post » Thu Apr 07, 2011 5:58 pm

Not to amazed by the Nords being Viking like race/characters, after seeing them in Oblivion made me puke :meh: Their woman looked like old men with an overdome sized forehead to be honest

The perfect, child-birthing, viking woman! hArHAR hahahaHAHAHA HARHAR *cough cough* herp

Skyrim is my first choice; I don''t want to play in a swamp.

I had hoped for an Elder Scrolls game in Elsweyr or Argonia, because Khajiit and Argonians are my favorite races in the series, but it had seemed like Skyrim was very likely well before the game was officially announced, so there's no big dissappointment in the choice. And I'm sure that the choice of where to set the game won't stop me from enjoying it. In any case, maybe we'll see that in the next game, time will tell...

I think it's funny to see how people change their minds. There were quite a lot of threads asking which province people would like to see in the next TES game before Skyrim was announced. I remember that Skyrim was not very popular back then. Now everyone wants Skyrim...strange, huh?

On the other hand the poll is a bit biased. It sounds a bit like you really dislike the fact that it's Skyrim if you don't vote for 'No, I'm happy with Skyrim'. I think Skyrim will be good (so I'm not completely unhappy with Skyrim), but if I had a choice I would prefer Summerset Isles or Black Marsh or Valenwood or Morrowind (mainland, not Vvardenfell again). Simply because these provinces sound a lot more mysterious and special than the pretty generic 'fantasy Viking' setting of Skyrim.

Elsweyr. What can I say, I have a fetish for deserts and Khajiit.

I wanted it to be in Summerset Isle, but Skyrim would be great as well.

Valenwood and Summerset Isle appealed to me the most out of the list for their interesting lore and climate being tropical. But Valenwood is the most desirable perhaps because of its migratory trees that contain entire cities in them.

By the time I was thinking about TES 5 the rumours about Skyrim had already started. Anything from the southwestern part of Tamriel I'd say (Summerset, Valenwood, Elsweyr).

I was expecting Skyrim (which I don't mind one bit that it's taking place there), but I kind of wanted it to take place on Summerset Isle or Black Marsh. Or even Elsweyr. Summerset because of the rumors that Oblivion had, Black Marsh and Elsweyr because I thought we should give the beast races a chance to "shine". After all, we've only been to provinces where the main populace is comprised of either men or mer (elves).

But after playing Oblivion some again, I heard a rumor about greybeards in Skyrim foretelling the end of days, so all is good.

Either Summerset Isle (Though I might be too put off by all that concentrated Altmer arrogance), Elsweyr or Valenwood.

Before I heard about the trademark, I wanted it to be in Summerset Isle. It would have been an interesting province to explore. However, I'm happy that it's in Skyrim and looking forward to its Nord setting. Next game (especially since it would most likely be on the next generation of consoles and therefore have the technology to do them justice) I'm wanting a really exotic province - perhaps Blackmarsh or Elsweyr, or again, Summerset Isle.

i would have liked to have all of tamriel but i knew that was unrealistic. i was wanting it to be at least partly in akavir. since akavir is so large i knew that wuld need multiple games. VAlenwood sounds extremely boring considering wut i read when it says how the wood elves live. they dont even use the wood in their own forest...they make stuff with animal skins and imported wood if they have to.doesn't sound like a good place to have a game to me. but eh. if bethesda wanted to pull that off they wulda figured it out. Anyway besides that i mean. Hammerfell wuld not have been but skyrim may in fact be a better location. i hope we get some solsthiem expansions and a trip to akavir tho. but the second is not so likely

I'm fine with Skyrim, although I was secretly hoping for Black Marsh (unknown thick jungle and bandits in hiding) or Elsweyr (deserts and drug trafficking Khajiit) as I think these have even more hostile environments than Skyrim. I can't help but think there are many things there that want to eat you or backstab you. Or even a return to Morrowind. "Here I'm again, you bloody n'wahs!"

It would've been cool seeing Cyrodiil or Morrowind hundreds of years after the third and fourth TES game, but to be honest I have no preference. I also think it would be cool to explore a continent outside of Tamriel, but I'm not sure how civilized places like Akavir are.

As long as it isn't Valenwood I don't really care.

Most areas are fine by me

Black Marsh would be an amazing setting. I'm glad they didn't try it with today's hardware and tech. When they do it I hope it will be as luxuriant and deadly as it is pictured. A strange, mysterious and hostile land, even stranger than Vvardenfell.

Skyrim.
I don't think we'll ever see a TES game based around Elsewyr, Valenwood or Black March as those provinces are probably too alien for the main audience.
