What questions would you like the Devs to answered

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:37 pm

Will the enchanting skill be brought back?
Why was it taken out in Oblivion?
Will there be level scaling?
Will there be enchanters that you pay for an enchantment, only limited by the cost of the enchantment? aka. no limits?
Will most weapons/armours be created with prefixes such as Diablo 2?
How much REALLY HIGH-level content is there?
Will there still be the 10% of endurance is added to max health upon level up?
Will there be, for each item class, an item that is the absolute best item of that type? Eg. The absolute best sword, dagger, shield ...
Will we be able to add new spell types with the construction set? Not like shock damage 100 pts, but a custom spell where we define what magnitude does et.c
Will we be able to change weapon/armour durability with scripts?
Will skills continue to rise in their effectivity if they are above level 100?
Will there be a level cap?
Will there be level requirements to use specific items?
Will you stop making all these game-breaking bugs? Daedric War Axe glitch from Mehrune's Razor DLC, Mehrune's Razor "Daedric Banishment" can be reflected and instantly killing the player, 200 hour bug from Shivering Isles, Disintegrate Armor/Weapon's durability has no effect, Gauss rifle from Fallout 3 (omg look it up, it's insane!), Bugged Point Lookout perks in Fallout 3 and
Spoiler
Mehrune's Dagon melting if you use the Wabbajack on him

Maybe they felt levitation removed any need for acrobatics?

Will we be able to add new spell types with the construction set? Not like shock damage 100 pts, but a custom spell where we define what magnitude does et.c

I thought you could already do that. Open the CS and try under "Gameplay>Magic Effects & Gameplay>Settings". I imagine you need to know what you're doing in there though as it looks rather complicated.

Will we be able to change weapon/armour durability with scripts?

Um, can't you set the durability of the weapon you're making in the CS?

Will you stop making all these game-breaking bugs? Daedric War Axe glitch from Mehrune's Razor DLC, Mehrune's Razor "Daedric Banishment" can be reflected and instantly killing the player

How is this a bug. Your opponent having the same tools you do or using your own tactics against you is only fair. Or you could make your own mod and go into the CS, find the Daedric Banishment spell and check the "Disallow Spell Absorb/ Reflect" box.

My questions for Bethesda:
1) Will TES V have better customer support than Oblivion in terms of patching ALL bugs/ glitches and not just half of them?
2) Will Beth hire game testers to make TES V as bug free as possible before it's release? (...maybe I should go check the jobs section of their website)
3) If there are DLCs for TES V, will they be available on all platforms?

I feel that Oblivion could have been even more enjoyable for what it was all on it's own, if the product had been completed properly. I feel that a lot of the enjoyement was overshadowed by glitches where I had to reload my save like every half hour (yes I know that's an exaggeration, but you get the point). I hope TES V will be much more polished and complete than Oblivion was, whatever you decide to put into TES V. Perhaps I have a biased against Nintendo for their relentless juvenile themed games, but surprisingly, they are insidiously fun. Why? Because your fun is uninterupted by software issues. So if you, Bethesda, need to take notes on how to make a complete polished and good quality (completed craftsmanship) game, take them from Nintendo of all development houses. In my eyes they are #1 when it comes to fewest bugs ever per game produced. ...Then again I suppose that may because Nintendo's games tend to be very small in scale compared to other developers. :/

So if you, Bethesda, can pull off a TES V of epic scale with a complete, and polished game (fewest bugs), then that'll anchor your #1 developer spot in my books, and I imagine in a lot of other people's.

Update: interesting to see Behesda is hiring for more or new marketing management positions...

Just as long as it isn't crappy cliche buildings.

I think I'd be fine with whatever the buildings looked like so long as they contained some NPCs or books that gave me some interesting lore or questlines to follow
That and I believe sticking to the cliche buildings that have walls and a roof seems like a good design idea.

That is because the devs will not answer any questions about a possible game.

There have been "Ask a Dev a Question" topics in the the Fallout forums, but only related to things other than Bethesda game(s).

Well when Oblivion was in development they did agree to at least 2 Q&A sessions so asking questions doesn't hurt.

Does your toast fall butter-side up or down?

That's easy to answer: it depends on the cost of the carpet.

What I want to know is, will this be a "real" RPG or another "FPS with RPG trimmings" like Oblivion. In other words, "WILL FAILURE BE POSSIBLE?"

The hostility in the questions is enough to ENSURE they aren't answered by the devs.
You all might want to think your wording through.
'Will there be more traditional, intellegent, immersive Roleplay involved?' is essentially the same as asking 'Are you going to make a REAL RPG this time around & not a dumbed down FPS bastard of a game?' My bets are that the prior, and not the latter would have a HOPE of getting a response.

In essence, come on guys....work on your speechcraft skills ;)

I think you've summed up every reason why this thread is a pointless waste of time.

When a new game has been announced for a while, Todd typically answers fan questions on this forum. However, he has announced no such intention and there is no game to talk about right now.

As you have so rightly surmised, the chances of any questions being answered are further reduced by the snotty, arrogant wording of many of the flamebait "questions" in this thread. I'm going to close it now before I have to start handing out warnings.
