I will probably create a character for each of the three interaction archetypes Combat, Magic and Stealth.
Playthrough 1 - "Voldur":
Male Nord
Role: Warrior and explorer
Weapons: Anything that lies around.
Armor: Medium and heavy armor preferred.
Magic: Rarely used, except Dragon Shouts.
Birthsign: The Lady, The Warrior or The Ritual
Personality: Proud and with deeply rooted values, Voldur can sometimes act before he thinks. But he's fairly intelligent and his heart is made of gold. He's got a very dark past, however, and this is why he's in prison. It is also the reason why he would now give his life to save Skyrim from the malice of Alduin, the Dragon God.
This will be my number one Dovahkiin, the chosen one that I will roleplay as much as possible. Main idea here is to see how non-magic melee combat works in the game and how well roleplaying is supported in Skyrim.
Playthrough 2 - "Rhuja":
Male Khajiit
Role: Rogue / assassin / hunter
Weapons: Bows, daggers and some spells
Armor: Light and/or unarmored
Magic: Illusions and transmutations
Birthsign: The Thief, The Shadow or The Lover
Personality: Sociopathic murderer and profiteer. He trusts nobody, and although he isn't sadistic by nature, he gladly uses people like pawns to get his way - even if it causes great torment or even death. In short, if I were Rhuja IRL, then Mother Theresa would want me dead.
With Rhuja, I will be testing to what extent stealth can be utilized and how much I can eff up the people of the world without destabilizing the game experience. E.g. what consequences lie in store for murder, theft and pitting people against eachother. How playable an evil character can be. That sort of thing.
Playthrough 3 - "Tika":
Female Breton or Altmer
Role: Spellcaster / monk
Weapons: Spells, staves and hands
Armor: Unarmored
Magic: All schools - especially destruction (favoring Shock effects, thus making her an excellent against other mages)
Birthsign: The Atronach
Personality: Neutral but decisive, and with the impeccable ability to piss off rocks. Tika has rather bad vision, so she's specialized in casting cascades of low-magnitude spells at random, instead of charging up a single spell for one big blast. She's also an Atronach (no not the creature but the sign, haha), so that's a reason behind her conservative spell use, as well. Tika is rather absent-minded, the typical mage-persona, while at the same time fighting for animal rights, peace, politics and that beauty should come from within. Which is kinda odd, since she spends a LOT of time in front of the mirror. She's drop dead gorgeous!
For this character I will test the diversity and flexibility of the magic system, whether or not magic can be used exclusively throughout the game and how fun it actually is. I will also test out the Hand-to-hand system and anything that I didn't get to test with either Voldur or Rhuja.
