I currently am playing a Falmer race- Altmer head on a taller/thinner Nord body. !00% frost,50% shock resistance, 50% fire weakness. Hatred of scamps, imps and anything else that tosses fireballs.

Playing a dunmer been using him for quite a while still my only character right now. Been thinking of making an orc or altmer archer type of character but I still got a lot of stuff I want to do with my dark elf. Nice having a game that I can flip on and not run through all the quests and story mode in a day or two.

I liked the look of the mystic elf faces, but I usually play a custom class optimized for Dunmer with vampirism, so I installed Mystic Elves but changed all the stats, penalties and abilities to match Dunmer.

Wow, I can't believe it myself but I'm actually playing a female Nord at the moment: a melee character. I never thought of playing a Warrior kind of character, but I used a randomizer and I've got to say that I'm loving it. Really.

My Elf Arwynn is a descendant of the Edhellim. She is a custom race named simply http://http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16120.Unmatched in Mysticism and the healing/destructive arts of magic. Is deadly with bow and blade alike. Her story is tragic, which will be told when the time is right(in other words, when I'm done writing it.Trying to make it lore freindly to 2 story arcs).

I got really sick of playing modded races that didn't fit in with the lore and the spirit of a TES game, so I've reverted back to my Dunmer-obsessed ways... I currently play a beautiful, seductive dunmer sorceress...vanilla with some modded face/body textures, hair and glowing red eyes. She's kick-ass, I love her.

Well, I've always loved the Dunmer from Morrowind, because of the appearance and culture. But Oblivion kinda veered off with them in my opinion, and made them less... less... Good. Sounds kinda weak, but it's the only way I can describe it. They just seem like they've been watered down. Like they're now just an Imperial with red eyes and bad skin. Currently I'm playing with the Altmer though. Pure mage, with strong alchemical skills.

I'm a level 40 Dunmer Spellsword. I've done every single guild and expansion except Thieves/ Dark Brotherhood so I'm doing those now. This is like my tenth character.

My 2 main files are a male Imperial mercenary with the same name as my forum name, and a female Bosmeri archer named Arwayn that also uses illusion and conjuration magic. Shes also learning to use destruction but its slow going cuz its a minor skill for her.

I feel your pain. I find it so hard to play Dunmer in Oblivion. They do seem watered down. They were complete badasses in Morrowind.

You know, I think I've worked out what's changed. 1) They don't swear at me any more. 2) They don't act condescending and hostile because I'm an outsider. 3) There's no Dunmer culture in Cyrodil. It's the Imperial province for a reason. 4) The Dunmer in Oblivion were Cyrodilic Dunmer - they've been integrated. They're nothing like the Vardenfall Dunmer. 5) I'm watching you, scum.

I think that just about sums up my dissatisfaction. Although, to be honest, it's probably a good thing it's like this in Oblivion. I would imagine it'd be strange in the extreme to see Morrowind culture being ported to Cyrodil. Slightly lore / immersion breaking I guess. Even so, my last save game just got irretrievably corrupted, meaning I had to start again. I chose relatively speaking the same build, but with a Dunmer instead of an Altmer. For starters, the Dunmer has the advantage because the gameplay is now more challenging with the neutered magika output. Another bonus is that my character no longer looks like someone submerged it in a vat of fake tan by its ears. That's a pretty major point actually... Orange elves svck.

-snip-

That does make sense actually. Dunmer in Cyrodiil would be Imperialised, and therefore not hostile towards "outsiders". They themselves are in fact outsiders!

I don't like Altmer that much, either. I don't like how much taller I am than everyone else. In real life I'm of average (6ft) height, so it feels odd to look down at everyone. I can handle being a little bit shorter, but not male Bosmer short. I like to be in between, I guess.

I have Restart-is, so I am always changing between the 3 elf races, lol.

However, since I am a battle-mage kind of player, I tend to really love playing Altmer/High Elves and Dunmer. =)

I'm playing a Nord archer who wears fur armour.

I plan to bring him on to Skyrim when November comes. :)

Four current characters at present trying out various "no armor" builds:
A female Orc (Blossom) who has maxed out Personality, Speechcraft and Mercantile - wields an axe but wears only enchanted velvet.
A Dunmer nun (Sister Salacia) wearing a wimple, stockings with garters, and long black gloves who uses Restoration as her main Offense (Absorb Health) - she doesn't use any armor or weapons. She's also avoiding Destruction but not too strictly, sometimes you need to chuck a flare at someone to get their attention.
A Mazken (Maisie) using a Claymore and trying to max out Speed/Strength/Blade on the "best defense is a good offense" principle. Obviously this one uses a mod to make the race playable.
A Nord (Hidy Heidi) who's going to be the back-stabbing sneaky type with a dagger, rather than the usual marksman/sneak combo. Still working her through low levels using some armor and other weapons to build up her stats, but she'll be past that phase soon. I'm trying to make her an innocent-looking Little Red Riding Hood costume so she can carry a poisoned dagger in her basket as she hunts wolves on the way to Grandma's cottage.
