What race will start with?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:50 pm

I'm thinking a Nord mainly because of the game takes place in the province of the Nords and I'd like to try a non magic user for once.

Argonian... Like Always...
I'm not even sure if I've played any other basic race except for a khajiit once...

Dunmer.

I predict this'll be a very popular option.

As with the backstory thread, I need to know more about racial perks (if there are any) and attributes (if there are any.)

Surely there must be something that distinguishes the races from each other. If it's purely an aesthetic difference I'll be very disappointed.

Breton...But I expect them to be nerfed into complete wimps in Skyrim.

I'm assuming that the races are the same as Oblivion right now. So choose from that.

Definitely Breton.

50% magic resistance and Fortify Magicka 50 FTW :flamethrower: Also, the Dragon Skin can be quite the life-saver in the early game.

What my picture says. Second is Argonian. Then I'll try a Nord.
These 3 are guaranteed, any others depend on the replayability.

Dunmer. My first character is always a Dark Elf. He's gone to Skyrim from Cyrodiil after hearing about the destruction of Morrowind to take advantage of the conflict as a mercenary but also to do what he can for the Dumer refugees who have fled there.

Oh, and he doesn't like Argonians, stick to your swamp and leave my proud homeland alone.

Nord or Breton.

What's with the Argonian fetish around here? I never really got that. First time I played Oblivion and saw the Argonian in the character creation I was like "WTF? ROFL, really??". It's just too weird for me. Same with the Khajiit.

If they were the same, I would say Argonian or Dunmer, as I plan to play as a ranger type of character. (Sneak, illusion, security, archery, short blade - if there is such a skill anymore - armorer, and alchemy.) Living off the land and avoiding trouble where possible.

But I really need to know what races are like this time around before I can make that determination for Skyrim.

Dunmer has always been my favorite race, mainly due to certain Morrowind experiences. Naturally it'd be my first choice, however I'm going to be rolling a Nord my first time around Skyrim.

Altmer, always Altmer. In OB, the elemental weakness is a nice balance for the boost in magicka, I find Bretons just a little unchallenging to play due to the boost and the spell resistance.

Nord, because I always need to transport more and more items... and because I live in Quebec...which is in the north.

(in french "Nord" means "North")
