Whichever looks best. I'll have to play around in the character builder to see how they are. :)

I will play as a nord, because it is the best way to first experience Skyrim. It's just better to experience the landscape of Skyrim by the blood of the nords. I will just be able to relate to the game better if I am a nord, 'cause a large portion of the population are nords.

On a subsequent play, I will probably create an evil high elf sorcerer as my second character, the same high elf sorcerer I created in Morrowind, by the way. And the beastly races just look, well, 'BEASTLY,' so I will definitely be creating a khajiit, and an argonian. I've never been an orc, but from what I've seen in one of the screenshot, the orcs look incredible, so I will have to play a game of Skyrim as an orc.

Dunmer. I always play as a Dunmer. The best race for a balanced magic/stealth character. Also, they just look BA. Thankfully, they aren't British this time around. Raspy smoker voices ftw!

redguards are my second favorite race, if this game was to be set in hammerfell, some people would have chosen the redguard as their first race

I think my point from a thread long ago has finally been proven for anyone who foolishly doubted it. Argonians are hands down the best TES race.

The only reason they're behind Nords is because people have OCD and must first play the native race for the region the game is set in or they'll have a seizure.

Being that the setting is Nordsville, I'll probably be a Nord as to get into the whole "for when the sons of Skyrim will spill their own blood" vibe. Although I do like playing a Dunmer, what with their stronger focus on magic to accompany decent melee... plus their resistance to fire damage can be helpful against some dragons. [If Bethesda hasn't scrapped all this that is] Since there are plenty of the descendants of Dunmer refugees making Skyrim their home, I could stretch the meaning of "sons of Skyrim" to include Dunmer.

I play as an Argonian because they look badass and have nice racials.
I also loved their voice acting in Oblivion, especially the female.

I was planning to be a Nord ever since the game was announced, but after seeing the demo... The Nord voice is just awful, "What were they thinking?!" tier awful.
So Now I am undecided as to what I will play as, maybe a Dunmer or Argonian, purely for the deeper voice.

I will be a Wood elf!

I'm reserving my judgment until I see character screens for the other races, but I'm leaning toward Orc, as I really liked the character design for the screen that was released.

This would be my first time playing an Orc in any game.

For previous TES games I have usually played a Dunmer.

Redguard, because I love them for some reason, and I've always played with them as my main.
My second character will be a Breton.
