I could accept that if the intelligence spread was reasonable, but on the Orcs it's way too wild. The ape or Klingon template was used interchangeably, and it doesn't seem they had much in between those extremes. So it doesn't seem like normal variation, instead it just seems like a disagreement between character designers of what Orcs should be. Other "races" are more consistent.


It's odd how in the RPG world the term "race" gets used for character types who are so completely different from each other, they really seem more correctly described as different species. Or in Elder Scrolls case, maybe the elves are collectively one species with a few races, the human types are another species with a few races, and each of the beasts it's own species.

Ordinators look sixy. They all have the same face, it's terrifying. And their clothing is outlandish but not unappealing. And the Khajiit and Argonians, while I never play as them since they can't wear shoes, their dialogue is one of the best things about morrowind. I love when argonians say "Summoned by another, questions again." So beautiful.

The race I hate most are the Bosmer. The reason is quite simply their voices. Soo annoying. I'm not surprised the bosmer are leading the polls here

Also, i like the nordic accents. When they say "Don't stand about! You're on your honour." And dunmer obviously have the best voices in the whole game. The males raspy, the females haughty.

I hate imperials and bretons. They just don't seem as... original as the other races.

Not as exotic you mean? I kind of like the imperials and their mundanity. It hints that the world of magic is in decline if these people are now the rulers.

No vote from me I don't HATE any of them, hate is a very strong disgusting word, and I don't dislike any of them either.

Wood elves because they always seem so weak or stupid. Fargoth and Galbedir, respectively. And a much more intense example from a different game, Maglir. (WAAAAGH, I have a family, I never woulda guessed the Fighters Guild could be dangerous work)

And dark elves because with those voices they sound like they're gonna shout "WHERE ARE THEY" at any moment and they also seem EXTREMELY xenophobic sometimes.

what races do you hate - you, the person in front of the computer or you as in "your ingame character"?
(answer for both: none. at most i/my ingame char like/s or dislike/s people, independent from gender, race, sixual preference, etc. etc. etc.)

what i CAN answer is my preference of race when i create a character, and this is dunmer, male (and maybe imperial, female, for a secondary character in the distant future )
i'd certainly never play a nord, orc, breton or bosmer, as i simply don't imagine the nerevarine to be of that race (but i very much like npcs of that races: sharn, eydis, the skaal, that morag tong orc who always greets so nicely when i'm on my way to eno hlaalu, the breton guy locking himself up scared of the scamp, that nice teleport lady in the balmora mages guild and even fargoth (!), whom i silently repayed what i had taken from his hiding place by breaking into his house and putting the stuff on his pillow )

I don't hate any race, but I choose Wood Elf. Fargoth gets on my nerve. Then you have that guy in Mournhold. Been a while so I forget his name.

Only Fargoth hatred, and it's well-founded.
