I honestly don't care what rating why choose, as long as the keep the Fallout 3 gore away from this game.

Rating is irrelevant if they can create an engaging narrative.

no, nudity is silly and useless. It adds nothing except for sad people.

It's only sad for immature teen boys whose masculinity is too percarious to risk having a game with elf boobies. "OMG, what will my friends think...they'll laugh!" In this case, they should stick to the games rated T untill they're mature enough not to get an erection everytime some nudity shows up. advlts who buy MA rated games will appriciate the well placed gore and nudity where the artists have creativly added it.

AO shouldn't even be on the list. If a game is AO then it can't even be on consoles.

And your point here?

I think Tes V should have cussing, like Hell and Damn, yes, but other things, veto, they didnt use that sort of language.

I do recall some language in Oblivion, although not nearly as offensive as other M rated games, it was still there. I remember going in to see a merchant in the Imperial City. It was an Orc, but I forget his name. Anyway, he was cussing like a sailor at me. It was GD this and GD that, with a string of others as well. I was actually surprised it was there b/c I wasn't expecting it, especially since I have the T version of Oblivion. It was before they changed the rating.

M, I dont want them to limit themselves just cause hey want a T rated game. Dont censor things that are the way they are.

If I chop a guys arm off, hes gonna cuss, and bleed. If there is a rotting smell corpse, its going to be grossest.
If im in a shady part of town, drug deals and prosttutes are bound to be nearby.

Im also not saying these things should be the focus of the game or be exaggerated, just dont censor and limit yourself because you want a stinkin T rating <.<

I'm kind of for AO. I'd like the game to include the evil [censored] that makes you want to hurt things when you hear about it on the news. It doesn't have to be graphic, but deal with the issues. That might fall under M, but I think lots of the truly evil stuff I'm talking about might push it to AO. In Oblivion even when I was doing the dark brotherhood quests it didn't feel all that evil to me, it had a almost cartoony feel to it.

For example when this happened, http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/10/27/california.gang.%5Bcensored%5D.investigation/index.html I was frickin pissed off I was filled with both rage and sorrow at the same time. If they can include issues like this in an upfront manner to inspire the same levels of emotions, then whatever rating it takes I want. Obviously since it is fake and not a real event you probbaly wont feel the same level of emotions, but I want them to try too like how a really good book or movie can.

This whole poll is severely flawed. It's using ESRB.

That's cause Oblivion was originally rated Teen. :whisper:

I vote for a Mature rating as well, it gives the developers more freedom to make a believable world.

My copy of Oblivion on the 360 actually has a teen rating. No joke, instead of M it says T

As does quite a few people's copies, mine included; the rating wasn't changed until quite some time after Oblivion had already been out.

I think the next game will have to be rated M. The rating board has changed these days. Any dark or gritty themes are hard to pull off with a teen rating. Look at Morrowind. If that game was released today, it would be rated M. They claim Oblivion skins was the reason they changed the rating to M, but there's more to it then that. The main reason was due to some darker themes and more blood splatter and gore then they realized. Plain and simple the ESRB missed this one. I think it's funny how little this board that determines the ratings even knows about playing games, or how little of the game they look at before slapping a rating on the box.

Don't go for ratings, just make the game as you want it to be without constraints, and just see what they rate it as.

I think it has to be Mature, certainly nothing below teen, as i would like to see more dark elements in the game, especialy a Necromancer guild

Mature so it's not too graphic and it can have a wide variety of content at the same time.

i have to say, i never look at ratings. for one, i'm in my late twenties...and second, i don't agree with the way the ESRB works. did you know the panelists (composed of teachers and parents) don't even play the damn game?

they could rate the game E for all i care, i just want depth and problem-solving...

AO shouldn't even be on the list. If a game is AO then it can't even be on consoles.

Not true. AO games can be for consoles or PCs (or those funky mac things) but most retail stores refuse to sell them. In fact, you can't even trade in the original copeis of GTA San Andreas at Gamestop anymore. An AO game needs to be bought at specialized stores or via the internet. Therefore to have an AO rating wouldn't just be bad for us console users, but everyone.

I don't think ratings are something to "aim for." I mean, aim for a 10/10 rating, sure, but not a particular ESRB rating. Just make your game as best you can (which, if the past is any indication, is damn good) and let them rate it as they will. Although that [censored] in Australia will likely try to ban it if... well, he'll probably try to ban it anyways. If jack Thompson wasn't under ADVANCED DISBARMENT :cake: :woot: :foodndrink: he'd try to ban it here in the states just for being a video game as well.

My Oblivion has a T on it. Hehehe.

They want cutting-edge graphics and immersion, hence it *will* be restricted to the mature audience (through rating).
I can only hope they'll also cater it to that audience, not a pubascent one, which leads to just as much realism as the graphics.
