What reminds you of Oblivion?

Post » Fri Nov 19, 2010 5:34 pm

I'm sure their have already been topics like this, but i wanted to post a new one anyways.

Any songs by AkissforJersey remind me of Oblivion. I started listening to them around the same time I started playing it.

So what reminds you of your experiences with the game?

The backyard and the nearby park. Can't really say I found Cyrodiil to be a very exciting land compared to Morrowind.

I've never really been able to get into Morrowind, but i agree. It's much more interesting to explore.

It depends on the various aspects of Oblivion, but one of the greater things that remind me of Oblivion are sights of Roman architecture. When I think of Oblivion, the Imperial City prominently features in much of the related imagery, and Roman architecture looks like Imperial City architecture, to me.

Oh geez, where do I start...

There's a bird in my backyard that sings kinda like one of the birds in the game.

If it's been rainy/moist outside for awhile, sometimes these huge mushrooms show up in my neighborhood. Look just like Cairn Boletes. :D

Garlic.

Sometimes if I get annoyed at someone I'll start fantasizing how awesome it would be if I could throw a fireball. NOt at them, but just throw one at a wall or something. Just to see the look on their face!

Tomatoes and onions.

Corn.

Listening to inane conversations in a supermarket or at Starbucks, I'll sometimes realize I'd much rather hear some NPCs talking about goblins, mudcrabs, or "the news from the other parts of Tamriel".

Bottles of wine, especially if they're in one of those racks.

sunrises and sunsets. :)

Damn, now I wanna fire up my PS3. :(

So do I. I've been taking major tests for the past few days and have another tomorrow morning, but all I want to do is fire up Oblivion and play it. I can't, however, because I must study... or procrastinate. :P

Whenever I am outside walking through the wilderness I am reminded of Oblivion's environment.

Walking in the dog in the woods. I can't help but crouch down and try to sneak up on her as if I was hunting deer or wolves.

Reading old books makes me think of all the time my character has spent going over old books while doing research.

Buying anything anywhere I automatically try to 'Haggle' with them to bring the price down.

Talking to people I've often asked tried all 4 Speachcraft options to see if I can make them like me more.

While writing for/on other forums/RP's I daydream back to how that character or situation would fit in Oblivion.

People gossiping on the Train/Bus makes me wonder if they have a 'X' choice to make them shut up.

If there is snow on the hills, I just have to look out of my sitting room window.

Many things remind me of Oblivion. I won′t repeat them as Renee Gade 2 mentioned them all

I always get surprised when I can buy TWO copies of the same magazine. I mean, isn′t it only one copy per customer??

Police men sometimes make me think of Imperials. Sometimes I walk by a police car and I expect them to jump out in my face because of that pear I touched in the supermarket (but did not buy)....

...."It's all over lawbreaker!...your spree is at an end...I'll take any stolen goods you have! The next move is yours! Pay your fine, or I'll haul you away!"

"uh, sir, it's jsut a pear. It's still in Safeway, go look!"

"THEN PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD!"

People gossiping on the Train/Bus makes me wonder if they have a 'X' choice to make them shut up.
