Well, most have been started, but I think The Seventeenth still has some spots open.

You know how they say you have to have a job to get a job? Same thing with RP's. You have to be in one to get in another. Maybe RP with yourself a little around the home for a week.

Just messing with you dude. But knowing the material helps, so give an rp a good read and look for an opening when one comes along.

Lots of rps are willing to accept new members after they've started.

Just read up on it, but effort into a good character and do your best to keep up with it.

Just read any RP that takes your fancy; get up to date with it and then PM the host. He or she will discuss the details of you joining.

Don't worry, any skill is allowed in RPs and it's not as daunting as it may first seem. :)

Chriso123 is right. Just create a character that suites you, patrol through each open rp, request to join via PM, along with your character sheet, and you'll normally get an answer a.s.a.p. If you feel like you may be a bit rusty on your typing/writing, then have a go at some short stories in your spare time. Then when you feel ready, hop right in.

Additionally, if you want to be daunted, join the Timeline! We'll eat your soul and regurgitate it as a manual to eating souls.

What I meant to say, it's a great place to start if you want to learn things by observing and quite fast; ever open to new people, high-quality (at least IMO) and you can pick what you want to RP, we've got everything from adventure to politics, as it has no all-defying genre. Though we're in our third thread not that much happened yet, anyone can jump in anytime they want, considering it's province-wide there's a vast potential for roles. I started there (albeit with SoS, but still Timeline) and there's nothing wrong with me... nothing at all.

Brain pie.

You know it's weird: everyone says that the Timeline is a great place to start and is easy to get in to; but I've looked over it and it seems really complex and confusing, in my eyes.

Of course I'm not advising you to stay away, in fact I encourage you join it; pretty much all the good RPers are in it and you'll gain a lot of experience. :)

Meh, I agree with you there. Plus I have a thing about wanting to join in on rps from the start :) There doesn't seem to be many going on at the moment though, someone needs to create a new one

Well I personally say that for two reasons, both pretty obvious: firstly I started there myself (so I feel spiteful about you cheerful people and want to drag you down the most evil route), and secondly 'u noobz betr bugger off from muh rp it r elitist' doesn't sell it good.

I feel the same: coming into a RP half way through just seems really awkward, and I've never been a fan of war style RPs anyway. And I see what you mean about no RPs at the moment; there hasn't really been anything really good in a while, to be honest. No offence to the forums these days, but it's had its better days.

Of course, I am not saying the RP is bad, but it just doesn't appeal to me much. It probably is the best place to start, but it seems way too confusing for me to start at part 3 of the QW.

That is true, but a good imagination can last forever. Which is to say: so can this RP forum, we just need an idea that's fresh.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hello Dan! I'd recommend you join my RP, but it seems to have hit a rather devastating slump what with school starting for everyone and no one (Me included.) having time.

I always have ideas floating around that I could write about, I'm just already running an RP. Plus, I tend to really think things through, which means putting a lot of work into my stuff before posting it.

That's fair enough; seeing things through to the end is a good quality to have, and you've clearly got it.

But out of interest, what are those ideas?

Well, in my case it's more of an obsessive sort of thing. That's the blessing and curse of having a certain disorder.

As to the ideas. Well, it depends on what I've been doing that day. Like, what I've been watching/reading/etc. A lot of crossovers and stuff, mostly just fleeting ideas that could be possible but would be too nonsensical in the end to worry about. And mostly non-TES stuff, I might add. There was a Legion idea I've been toying with for a while, but it isn't fleshed out enough. As well as one of my fanfictions I've been doing for a very, very long time that might translate well into an RP. Which is actually what City of Shadows is.

I was thinking of writing something involving Hermaeus Mora, but that would require a lot more thought. Another that I've been toying with for a while is a Fighter's Guild RP. Since it was very unpopular and I've never seen anything written for it, I thought it might make for a nice change, especially if the RPers have more of an impact on the plot. I've also been doing a lot of thought on Meridia recently, but I haven't determined what I want to do with those thoughts yet.

Oh I see. Well I'm quite into Daedric Princes, so the Hermeaus Mora one sounds very interesting, but at the same time would require a lot of thought and general knowledge.

The Legion one sounds good, too, and I've actually been in one before; so from personal experience I know they're very good fun.

Obviously, you should finish City of Shadows first, but once you do I may be interested in any of those ideas... if I have the time that is.

Me and Darth Ravanger are working on one that should be out in a week.

Also, the timeline is where I learned the ropes, good place.

You can improve massively in three posts.

The forum is on a decline, since people are getting busy and leaving. Lots of people have left, and unfortunately, a small portion of the next generation is actually pretty good.

I'm thinking we are just purifying the waters so we have a full range of good RPers for the TesV newbies ;)

School is certainly forcing people (myself) to leave the RPing scene, but I still know how to make a mean character sheet (by mean I am reffering to a weak, potentially stupid citizen :D) Wait until summer, I'm sure we shall see their (my) return. Perhaps over thanksgiving break :shifty:

Anyways, the best RPs come out during long breaks. Plenty of RPs come out now, but some of them fail due to inactivity.
