What scares me the most...

Post » Fri Dec 17, 2010 5:28 pm

Ok, it has not been clear if armor will be in pieces. It was great in Morrowind, and in oblivion it was still pretty good... But what if they make it to where there are no separate pieces!? It scares me immensely, because of how they did it in Fallout 3. I want separate curiases, greaves, and boots. (gloves and helmet are a given)

You know, shoulder pieces are ok too, but it didn't break me transitioning from morrow too oblivion. Can someone give me some good new about different armor pieces? please? Sorry for any typos, I'm on my iPod in school...

Yeah, I really hope they make it like Oblivion and not Fallout. That would be a reason to not like the game. But I really have high hopes and believe that armor pieces will be seperate.

Mmm... I think that a dev said that they won't do it like in Fallout. He said that some things work for Fallout, but that TES is not the same.

Pete has said this multiple times as far back as a couple months ago. So repeat after me...

Yeah yeah I know that, but when you look at the detail of the dovakiihn's armor, it seems to good to be true..., it scares me so much x.x

It would seriously be the male or break me for this game... (no pressure deva)

I really hope it is like Morrowind so you can mix and match all types of armor.

I've got to say, I agree with the posters so far. First off, Morrowind and Oblivion style armors (preferably the former) definitely fit the fantasy genre much better than ready-made full suits. Also, the devs have said rather plainly that it won't be like FO3, so calm down :P

Hmm, let me try; "We.Are.Making.An.Elder.Scrolls.Game.Not.A.Fallout.Game."

Wow, that really does help.

As for armour, I'm certain it's seperate pieces and I reckon pauldrons may be making a comeback too.

@Moroni

Sorry mate, I'm on my iPod X3

But I wasn't basing my thoughts on the look of the Dovahkiin's armor in the trailer. It looks too fluid with each other, ya know?

Of course a matching suit of armour is going to look good, because, you know, it's matching.

It's kinda hard to explain, you have to have an eye like mine... Look at the details of the leggings in the waist, see how it kinda merges together perfectly? Like, too perfect....

Since they are making enchanting important again I really doubt that they are going to decrease the items you can use it on. If so enchanting would be [censored]. Then again...

No it would be ridiculous for them to use full suits of armor. Todd Howard is smarter than that. Besides like Alkrodion said enchanting is going to be much more important (important enough to take up 1/18th of the skill tree). Also, I read on a different post earlier that (if this source is credible) that not only will seperate armor pieces be in, but also pauldrons n such.

One can howl how much they aren't making an Fallout game, but until there is concrete evidence otherwise it could very well be a Elderscrolls game with Fallout attributes..I mean we already have perks.

Pete wouldn't have replied with that answer on twitter if the armor slots changed. He would have simply not responded. Now repeat after me...

"We.Are.Making.An.Elder.Scrolls.Game.Not.A.Fallout.Game."

Pete's words.

Feel better? If not, repeat it again...

My statement still stands, I know they aren't Making Fallout in of itself, I can read.

I should find that epic statement made here on the Forums regarding Tom saying some soothing reconfirming words and their being two outcomes, one blanks out and buys 5 copies of the game without hesitation and another overly screaming about how things are ruined.

We've Perks no? not inherent of strictly FO, but new to the series none the less.

I said.

I know they aren't making The Elders scrolls Fallout, duh he said that to brush off broadsides, but they are going to use what works. and single articles of clothing worked in FO3/NV, whats so hard to understand about that? especially since it would reduce Enchantment stacking.....The Elders scrolls with Fallout attributes.

we can do without your snide blind replies thank you.

To go along with Pete's "We are making an ES game not a Fallout game," he specifically says the word "multiple" in regard to http://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/24587565612933120 http://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/24126749738532864 about armor slots.

Now, it may just be me, but I find that multiple implies more than two.

No. Just no. You are missing the point entirely. Just because perks work DOES NOT mean EVERYTHING from Fallout works. Do you understand that? Perks work. Fallout style clothing does not. Confirmed by Pete. Don't let perks blind you to everything else please.

It might imply more than 2, but it means more than 1. Fallout had 2 armor slots.

When making a game, developers like to imply lots of things that aren't true. Not that this isn't true, or that Bethesda is very guilty of it, but its something to keep in mind.

Fallout always had one piece armors, and TES always had multiple piece armors. So why would things change now?

Btw good looking models don't mean they are one piece of armors. It is easy to break one model into multiple parts. Maybe they match so perfectly because they are one set of armors. Maybe if the character would wear different armor pieces the parts wouldn't match that well...
