My, what sharp claws you have!

Yeah,Khajiits already have it good enough. They dont Need No Stinking Claws! They Got,Night Vision!

Plus could you imagine how Unfair That would be to the Other races? They get nails, while The Khajiits get claws, and the Arogonians get To Climb walls?!

(arogonians look like Geckos...Or Whichever Lizard Climbs walls, cant Remember.)

The term retractable claw is actually wrong. Extendable claw is more accurate. A cat's claw is retracted by default and can be extended at will. I look forward to seeing the hands and feet. I'm hoping for a happy medium between Oblivion and Morrowind, with clear paw-like features but not too crazy-alien like Morrowind.

The more people talk about this picture the more I start to doubt my own perceptions of it. I think there are two sets of fur going on here one of them is a part of the armor and the other is a part of the Khajiit himself.

I indicate what I think is HIS fur in green and what I think is the armor's fur in red:
http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x422/Zeopard/skyrim_khajiithighlight.jpg

The gloves are obviously leather fully covering his hands.

On a second look, I think I marked the lower part of his shoulder pad fur as being his own incorrectly. Now I'm starting to confuse myself here.

I picture of a furred race wearing armor with fur in its design really has thrown people off I think, myself included.

kinda looks like his gauntlets cover his fingers. Maybe you just can't see his claws.

Well you certainly don't have sharp eyes, as that Khajiit's is certainly wearing leather gloves.

Also cats can pull back their claws.
Yes but the http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/cat_claw_11217_mth.gif are not internal.
The bones responsible just are still just like fingertips. A Khajiit with claws would have [gloves with] http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/Forepaw_skeleton_20crop.jpg and not be able to wear human gloves.

Edit:

It might be neat (and a nice touch), if the Khajiit had their own gloves with open slots for the claws to extend through. It seems plausible that they could http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/Claws.jpg their claws to get their hand in such a glove.

When in doubt, look to the lore. There are several subspecies (at least 17) of Khajiit, ranging from humanoid to elven to steed-like to feline. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit#Sub-species_Notes I'm not sure they'd create a separate model for each (that would be time consuming). But they might have created more than one model. It's possible that the Khajiit in the screenshot is more humanoid than regular Khajiit. This particular Khajiit might've just filed his claws down (a self-hating Khajiit possibly?). Or maybe the explanation is much simpler: this is a fantasy game and cat people with (retractable/extendable) claws can wear leather gloves. That's not a bad thing, right? This is Elder Scrolls, after all.

Argonians and Khajiit need to do more Hand to Hand damage than other races, because of their' claws.

Did you guys notice they have like little fangs or whatever they are called. Or am I wrong?

edit: Oh yeah and I think those are leather gloves

Those aren't fangs. Think of it as the khajiit version of a mustache or beard.

Cats have paws, Khajiit have fingers. Good luck retracting claws in fingers.

I agree with all of that picture EXCEPT the shoulders, I'm pretty sure the fur showing through the pauldrons is the Khajiit's and I'm not sure about the lower body, wouldn't that mean he's not wearing pants then?

It looks like some kind of leather kilt thing to me. You could be right and I could be seeing it wrong. It looks like the same tone as his other exposed fur.

The reason I don't think that's supposed to be his fur going through the pauldrons is wouldn't that be extremely uncomfortable?

Like everyone else has said, it looks like he's wearing gloves, but it also looks to me like his hair is glitching through them. It looks to be doing it through the armor on his upper arm too.

Well, that settles it for me. I still thought the Khajiit was wearing bracers until I saw the pic you provided. Gloves it is.

I cant believe people actually think/thought those gloves were the Khajiits hands....wtf...
I also cant believe people actually think/thought the fur-viking-barbarian styled pauldrons, are part of the Khajiits fur...

I thought it was quiet obvious from 1st viewing this screen shot?

Am I crazy for thinking his lower armor has his thighs exposed? It's not that he's not wearing anything, but that it doesn't cover his thighs?

No your not crazy for thinking that, you guys also arn't thnking Barbarian-like style enough.

His "lower armor" isnt armor. Its a mens skirt like thing. i can picture a barbarian wearing this with knee high boots. its funny, these clothes if worn today are very girly... skirt thing, knee high boots lol but looks so cool in this game for male characters

As far as evolution goes, I think claws (especially the way they are formed in cats) get in the way of complex hand dexterity. So, it makes sense for them to not be present/prominent in huminoid cats. It would be cool if in future games, that we could choose more than one type of Khajiit. There are sub-species that are less dexterous, but more powerful, so it could be that those types might have prominent claws.

Because it makes sense to have their claws poking into their palms while clenching. Totally talking about a non-issue.

hmm... i thought the more dexterous the cat, the better need for claws, the more powerful the cat, the lesser need for claws, speaking evolutionary.
If the cat is powerful, then its a good runner, can out run its prey and tackle it using muscle and its teeth as the weapon.
If the cat is dexterous, then its agility and quick reflex's compliment sharp claws as its best weapon.

To me, this Khajiit in the Skrym pic looks more like a power animal then an agile one. Sure hes probably more agile then most races besides the Woodelf, but still comes across as an animal that relies on power and has alot of stamina.

I think this Khajiit should have claws that are short, pointy but not sharp. And dont poke out to much, and dont extend out to much.
Though if i was to RP this Khajiit, I would probably choose an agility build over a power build... weird... seems more fun to be a sneaky thieving Khajiit cat burglar
